Voice your opinions here!
Whats the best type of Instant Messenger service?
ICQ, AIM, YAHOO, or MsN?

My vote goes for AIM. I like every feature except the warning feature. Not that I get warned to much ,but on some occasions I get warned from people that just say hi. And I reply and I get warned.

So what do you think?

Welcome, TDR. The "warning" feature on AIM - talk about pointless.

My favorite is ICQ. I just like it - I am someone who likes all the features - it's the grandaddy of IM's. AIM is close behind, but I hate that button ad and it's too newbie-focused. MSN is also good, but lacks users and features.

I use AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, and MSN Messenger. I like Yahoo! Messenger the best, with AIM being a close second, followed by MSN and then ICQ.

Patrick, what makes you like Yahoo! Messenger so much? I personally find it the worst out of ICQ, AIM, and MSN...

Thumbs up

I like MSN,ICQ, Yahoo! and finally AOL cause i never used it. What i like about MSN is that it can alert about e-mails and that its Instant. Not like ICQ when u press send it takes some time but MSN is INSTANT.

ICQ is sooooooooo slow to me... AIM is quicker... but, Yahoo! has new features, and I like how it is tied in with Yahoo!, which I use quite a bit.

They ALL SUCK.

ICQ is too slow and tedius, very buggy, and a hackers dream.

AIM is part of AOL, enough said right there. Hence the name: AOL Instant Messenger

Yahoo is just like MSN Messenger which is the single most annoying software program in existence.

Just my opinion(s)

P.S. I use AIM and ICQ anyway

Then what is your solution if none of these work?

To begin a life of seclusion and silence in which you never socialize with, or make human contact in your mere 77 years of existence.

actually..I have no idea

Well, I'm getting into this discussion kinda late, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents!

I tried Yahoo! Messenger for a few months a year ago or so, and did not like it... I don't have any friends that use it (by "friends", I mean people I actually know in real life) and I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to meet people -- I never did.

MSN is really cool!... All my friends have it so I use it a lot, but I really like the e-mail alerts -- that's really cool!

ICQ, though, is the BEST. Most of my r/l friends have it and nearly all my e-friends have it. PLUS, it's better than MSN or Y! to meet new people.

I have never tried AOLIM 'cuz no I know in r/l uses it, so I have no need to try it!

You must be in an odd situation, because AIM is used by most high schoolers and regular Internet people. Anyone who uses AOL has AIM, so it has a lot of users...
