Default Favorite Movies of 2008

I am a tremendous movie geek. Just wanted to let you guys know.

So what were your favorite movies of the past year? I saw a ridiculous amount of films and I think my favorite was In Bruges, but that could change once I see it again. It's a good flick and I highly recommend it to anybody, really.

Some other movies I dug to one degree or another were Pineapple Express, Let the Right One In, Milk, Stuck, The Dark Knight, Happy-Go-Lucky, Hellboy 2, The Wrestler, The Fall, Wall·E, Be Kind Rewind, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Hancock, Burn After Reading, Role Models, Teeth, The Visitor, Iron Man, Funny Games and Speed Racer.

And that's all I can think of right now. I was very disappointed by some of the bigger, awards bait type stuff like Slumdog Millionaire and Ben Button, which were both pretty lame.

The Dark Knight was my favorite of the year and ranks right up there as one of my favorites of all time. The movie was just so entertaining and well done.

Tropical Thunder was another favorite of mine last year along with Sarah Marshall, Iron Man, and Kung Fu Panda.

I want to see The Wrestler but I don't think it is out in this area just yet.

I meant to go see Burn After Reading but never got around to it.

I went to the picture show once in 2008 to see the new Indy Jones flick.

Reminded me why I haven't gone to the movies on a semi-regular basis since the 1970s.

My list includes The Dark Knight and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Nothing else really stands out. I was really disappointed by the Quantum of Solace.

Wall-E and The Dark Night. LOL they are total opposites but great in their own genres.

How could I stop by and not share my thoughts in this thread?

My top ten for the year so far is:
01.) Doubt
02.) Slumdog Millionaire
03.) Gonzo: The Life and Times of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (shoutout to CKFresh)
04.) The Dark Knight
05.) 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
06.) Taxi to the Darkside
07.) My Brother is an Only Child
08.) Snow Angels
09.) WALL-E
10.) The Visitor

Some others already mentioned that I really liked included Burn After Reading, The Fall and Tropic Thunder. Others not mentioned that I loved included Body of Lies, Boy A, City of Men, Chop Shop, The Counterfeiters, Frozen River, Man on Wire and Vicky Christina Barcelona.

I still need to see Choke, Frost/Nixon, Happy-Go-Lucky, Milk, Rachel Getting Married, The Reader, Revolutionary Road, Synecdoche, New York and The Wrestler before I can be truly happy with my list.
