Question Flacco or Ryan?

Who would you rather have as your favorite team's quarterback, Joe Flacco or Matt Ryan?

I think it's very close. Ryan probably looks a little better, but he also has more help, better offensive teammates. Flacco has turned around a perpetually subpar offense without any other obvious additions to the offense.

My instinct is to say Ryan, because he gives off that vibe of what a quarterback should be, but my head is saying Flacco has done just as much with less help, and he seems to be improving more quickly at this point. What do you all think?

I'd rather have Josh Johnson than either of them!

Matt Ryan be a decent margin. Don't forget he came into a Falcons team as a rookie who was awful the year before and turned them around, and that's more impressive than Flacco working with less in Baltimore. I haven't seen Flacco play much admittedly, but I like Ryan's leadership mentality and playmaking ability.

The Ravens were equally as bad the year before Flacco got there though and Ryan did have an All-Pro caliber receiver and the best rusher in the league to work with last year.

I'm anxiously awaiting Brad's next poll, which will ask us to choose between two NFL wide receivers, one of whom would be DeSean Jackson!

Marc, Ryan took over a Falcons team that went 4-12 the previous season. Flacco took over a Ravens team that went 5-11 the previous season. Ryan led his team to the playoffs, where they lost in the first round. Flacco led his team to the AFC Championship Game, winning two playoff games. Michael Turner was also a really important part of Atlanta's turnaround, whereas Flacco was the only obvious personnel addition for Baltimore.

Flacco is outplaying Ryan this season (more yards, better rating, worse receivers). That doesn't necessarily mean that he's the better long-term choice, but if you really think Ryan "by a decent margin", I'm not sure how much attention you've been paying.
