Brandon is on a distinguished road
Default Charlie Manuel fired

The Cleveland Indians, in the middle of a rebuilding mode, fired manager Charlie Manuel and replaced him with their minor leauge manager of the year in 1998, third base coach, and groomed successor, Joel Skinner. Personally, I think Manuel is a great manager an dshould have another chance at managing if he can keep his health problems to a minimum.

On another note, this is the eigth manager fired this season. Not a good time to be a MLB manager.

I don't know about this, the Tribe weren't winning, but then again, what do you expect when you trade away all your players? I guess a new manager would be in order to go along with a new re-building era in Tribe baseball.

Charlie Manuel wanted to be guaranteed that upper management wanted him to be "the guy" to lead the team into the new era. They weren't willing to do this, and he requested his release to find employment elsewhere.
He is a good baseball man and shouldn't have much difficulty finding employment as a batting coach or minor league instructor.

I was glad to see a change-Joel Skinner is a good choice. Cleveland is rebuilding from the ground up it seems. Omar Vizquel will be gone soon.
