Talking What a Year for Sosa!

Sosa hit three homeruns for the third time this year to break a major league record. He now has 58 homeruns with 146 RBI's. He's batting .319. Incredible. He is so consistent. Even though Bonds has 66 homeruns I would vote for Sosa as MVP.

Congratulations to Sosa! His play is so good, I'd say he would have a very good shot at that MVP. Homers arent everything, you know.

What a year is right. Above all, his consistency is the most impressive attribute.

Thumbs up Sammy Sosa running with the American flag

I didn't see the game but I saw it on the news and I thought that was so cool when Sammy Sosa took the American flag and ran around the field before the game (it was that or between innings, not sure which).

And then what was really even more cool was after Sammy hit a homer, he got a mini American flag from the 1st base coach and ran around the bases with the flag in his hand. And he's not even from this country either. He's just a class act.

Bonds is posting an offensive season rivaled only by Babe Ruth as one of the best in history. Sosa's had a great year, but Bonds has been even better.

I get into the details in my MVP article:

Yeah, with Bonds going after the home run race, and Sosa hitting 60+homer 150 RBI season's every year, we begin to take Sosa for granted and not give him the praise he deserves. That being said, he gets my MVP vote, just a great season by a great player.

The only person IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME to post a better offensive season than Bonds this year is Babe Ruth. 1920 and 1921 were the only seasons that a man put up better offensive numbers than Bonds this year.

How does he not deserve the MVP this year for that accomplishment?

Scott, you make a good point and I do agree with you. Sosa has been great, but I don't think you can get around the fact that Bonds deserves the MVP.
