While I was joking about the "lose our heads" thing, it really wasn't that close. Although the Pats won by 3, they were up 10 points (24-14) with less than 2 minutes left. Remember, McNabb hit Greg Lewis on a 30-yard post-pattern with 1:48 left in the game to make it 24-21. Christian Fauria recovered the onside kick, but the Eagles’ defense forced a punt. Eagles had the ball at their own 4 with 46 seconds left, and Harrison intercepted McNabb’s pass 3 plays later.

Yeah, I'm not sure where the fantasy that last year's Super Bowl was truly competitive comes from. NYJ jealousy, I suppose.

McNabb's teams were cumulatively seeded higher than Manning's and thus played more games at home: Specifically, of the Eagles' 12 playoff games with McNabb starting, eight were at home, three were on the road, and one was at a neutral site, while only four of the Colts' nine postseason games with Manning at QB were at home, and five were on the road.

So naturally McNabb's record is going to be a bit better than Manning's (and both have each lost twice at home and twice as favorites), given the fact that home teams have won upwards of 75% of all playoff games.
