Default Just when i start hitting the panic button, The Mavs change.

The Mavs seem to have turned the corner. I've seen some pretty bad and crazy basketball at times and a team that just didn't seem to have it head straight. Sloppy passes. Bad shot selections. Turnovers due to poor poor POOR ball handling. But the team changed on January 20th, after alot of talk of trades and talks of a Nellie firing.

From watching the Mavericks the whole season, this Maverick team right now is starting to show the same characteristics as the Maverick team showed last year, if not even better. And believe it or not, having Shawn Bradley in the mix helps. I think he is playing better D this year. He affects the game when he is in.

We will see what the playoffs hold when they get here.

But for the regular season, if the Mavericks continue what i see on the court, this team is going to challenge for the top spot in the west to get home court advantage throughout.

Hopefully. Walker is fitting in nicely, and Dirk is putting up more Dirk-like numbers as of late. I'm surprised Jamison is satisfied from going to go-to-guy to bench player.

I think the team woulda been much better off if they didn't trade for Walker The Line-up woulda looked nice like this

C) LaFrentz/Fortsen
PF) Dirk
SF) Jamison
SG) Finley
PG) Nash

Shawn,

i think that is it. He has been on a losing team for so long, that he doesn't care right now, so long as it means a payoff with a trophy or maybe a chance to play for it in the playoffs.

Clipps,
I thought that we for a long time. But maybe everything is working out now.

Mavs woulda had better chemistry if they didn't trade for Walker. Walker is way overrated. He is an allstar in the east but in the west, he looks like a scrub with all the names like Duncan, KG, Webber(when healthy), Brand, etc. I think Dirk is overrated too. To me, the only players worth watching on the mavs are Howard, Nash, Finley, and Jamison.

I disagree, Clipps. Walker is in no way a scrub. He is an immensely-talented player who will put up good numbers anywhere. And what has Walker done to hurt their chemistry?

I'd have to agree again. In my opinion, there is nothing negative that Antoine Walker has brought to the Mavs. They are a better team now than they would be starting LaFrentz at center; he's not a bad player, but HE is overrated. What has LaFrentz EVER done, compared to Walker?

Mavs woulda done better if the trade didn't happen because Antoine Walker is a team cancer. He dosn't play defense, he is a 3 point shooting machine...too bad the machine only works 27 % of the time, he doesn't play an inside game, he is not the best on the team, Antawn Jamison is better and he should be starting, not Walker, he whines to thr refs. What more can you say. This guys is the teams cancer. Dallas would be doin better if they didn't trade, and they were cancerless and Jamison, who is more deserving would be starting, the Mav's would be much better. Are the Mavs better off with or without Walker. Lets look at the wins

Dallas Mavericks 2002-2003 (Jan 31st): 36-9

Dallas Mavericks 2003-2004 (Jan 31st after blowing lead against Nuggets): 29-18
