Yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun, although, considering some of the bad reactions I've had to pot-- actually, the geometric shapes part that I was just reading on wikipedia sounds very similar to the bad reactions I've had from pot-- I doubt it is a good idea to try, but if the opportunity ever presents itself, I will probably try it.

And with this thread probably all to ourselves now, I think it's fair to say that everyone will think less of us after reading this thread

If you do try it, don't go out in public, stay hydrated, and if things go bad remember that it is just in your head and it will go away.

It's all about how you approach it. If you are nervous and scared, not good. If you are excited and calm, things will be fine.

As for people thinking less of us... I have a feeling my reputation at this place isn't exactly the best to begin with. Secondly, if people look down on me for experimenting with drugs in my youth - then they better look down on the majority of Americans (including Bush, Obama, and various other "diplomats.")

Oh, and they shoudl throw away their Beatles' albums too

I surprisingly find McCartney's Ram to be the best pot album, followed closely by Sgt. Pepper. MMT is probably my favorite Beatles album, but for some reason it doesn't strike me as that much better when I am high.

Two great Mccartney clips:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6KF_lpBvteo
"Never again" *wink*
(He must have been high during that interview.)

"[I planted the seeds] and five of them came up-- came up illegal."

Pot conversation turns into music? Who would've thunk it?

I'm not a huge fan of Magical Mystery Tour. I love it, don't get me wrong, but compared to their other albums, it's not one of my favorites - though I do own it on vinyl

Sgt. Pepper - 'nuff said :thumbsup2:

I'm of the opinion that Rubber Soul is extremely under-rated.

Those clips are terrific. The Beatles meant a lot to society in more ways than just music. They played a large roll in opening the eyes of Americans to the idea that marijuana is not so bad.

Here's some more fun with Paul:

McCartney talking about LSD

and for good measure...

Dewey Cox - Marijuana

I'm part of the non-existent minority that thinks the a-side of Magical Mystery Tour is The Beatles strongest side of an album. In fact, that album is the main reason I decided to try smoking. The actual TV special may have been a dud, but I really think that the songs on the a-side are unappreciated.

Until I smoked, I was never a big fan of Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!, but that song is amazing once you've heard it high. The line that always gets me is 'through a hogshead of real fire ' Real seems like too simple of an adjective to put in front of fire, but yet no other adjective would have kept the feel of someone standing in front of you and promoting the event.

Also, I love the solo in the middle of the song-- I'm not sure what instrument it is.

Great tune...

As a kid, that song scared me

Side A of Magical Mystery Tour is pretty strong. I love Walrus. I actually enjoy side B more though... Sorry

Have you seen "Across the Universe" Ellis?

Here's one of the stranger scenes - "Mr. Kite," while the characters are in the middle of an acid trip...

And one of my favorite scenes...

I just got high about 5 minutes ago and decided to stop in.

That's all. (For now.)

That's stuff stays in your system forever. You never know when
you may get a flashback, like when you are driving on a highway.

I see that you describe it as a lot of fun...but why would you want
to take the risk?

Ehh... if you die, you die, right?

It's an inevitability.

Because it was the most beautiful thing I've ever done.

Myth.

Life is too short to be boring. Do you have to do drugs to not be boring? Of course not. But for me, drugs played a large role in my development.

I wouldn't suggest drugs to everyone, but for some of us, they are terrific.

I don't really do drugs anymore (other than pot) but I don't regret one second of it.

Besides, those scare tactics they teach you in school about LSD are almost entirely false.
