I don't see either New York team in the playoffs this season.
AL East -- Boston
AL Central -- Cleveland
AL West -- LA
AL WC -- Detroit
NL East -- Atlanta
NL Central -- St Louis
NL West -- San Diego
NL WC -- Arizona
Boston over Detroit, Cleveland over LA, Boston over Cleveland
Atlanta over Arizona, San Diego over St Louis, Atlanta over San Diego.
Atlanta over Boston in 6

Catman I love Atlanta, but no way they go to the World Series. Their starting pitching just won't go that far I'm afraid.

Atlanta has the best starting 8 in the bigs right now. With Andruw Jones hitting better and the acquisition of Tex, they are solid everywhere.

Andruw Jones hitting better? Isn't he hitting around .214?

He has improved, slightly, since Tex was acquired. He should finish the season about .235 or so, which would be far better than he was hitting earlier.

I have a feeling he is going to the Cubs or the NY Yankees in 2008.

The Braves think they may now be able to re-sign him since the consensus seems to be that the price to sign him is going to be about $5 mil a year less than it was at the start of the season.

I doubt the Yankees will have a ton of interest in him though. They passed on Beltran a couple of years ago and I think they will need to shed Johnny Damon's contract before taking on another high-priced outfielder for the long term.

I think Jones ends up in Anaheim who wants another big bat behind Vlady or the Giants will overspend to get him to replace Bonds' salary and role as the linchpin of their lineup.

Or, maybe the O's nut up and make a run at him hoping that their young arms mature enough by the start of next season to make a serious run in the east.

Yes Anaheim could sure use him. I wonder how he will hit in the AL. I think he will actually hit better for some reason.

Cleveland sure was impressive against Minnesota this week. I see Cleveland winning that division by three to four games.

It does appear that the Indians want to win the division, doesn't it?
