Thumbs up CART in Montreal.

Finally the CART cars get on an F1 track. From what I understand the circuit won't be altered. Comparing the times could be interesting. I'm thinking with the CART cars being quicker down the straights they will post quicker times then the F1 guys. F1 cars break better, but their top speed is lower then CART. I don't think I've been this pumped about a race for awhile. Will anyone else be watching?

Afraid not. I'm more of a NASCAR guy ... it's the fastest growing sport here in the States, although mostly down South.

I wonder how a Nascar event would do up here. The three CART races and the F1 race draw huge crowds. There was talk of a race being held in the BC interior but I don't think much has ever come of it. I would love to see a few Nascar races. Bristol would be great to see. Watkins Glen, and of course, Daytona.

Been to any Marc?

The Pocono 500 is the closest to me, within driving distance. But I haven't been to any.

I hate Neckcar... driving round in circles for 400 laps is boring as hell.

But I'm a HUGE F1 fan. Looking forward to the CART event... should be interesting

Silverstone would have been amazing. It is a dream of mine to see every major race in Canada. I've been to the Vancouver race five times. Amazing every time. I guess I'll have to wait until I retire to see the others. Wonder if they'll still be around in 25 yearsThe F1 engine must have sounded awsome. What year did you go?

I think most auto-sports will begin to die out in 10-15 years due to the HUGE amount of natural resources they use.

I went to Silverstone in 1999, I'm from the UK.

Great race Hakkinen beat Schumacher and Coultard.

My Arrows boys where 19th and 20th

Great day...........

Arrows hey? It's too bad they missed Hungary last weekend. Hopefully they can get the sales completed and get back on the track ASAP. Do you think that Pollock will get them? Do you think that he is the guy that can turn them around? What engine are they going to use next year now that Ford is suing them for missed payments, and lastly, do you think if Pollock buys them that Villenuve will join them?

Well... i just hope WHOEVER buys 'em gets the finances sorted out.

As for engines... I'd like to see 'em using Toyota's.

Villenuve at Arrows.... that'll never happen

Don't be surprised if he did. The Arrows is not a bad car. I'd say it is aerodynamically a better car then BAR's and with a toyota engine could be an all around better package. I think that he just needs to get out of BAR. I like that rumour about him coming back to CART, but I doubt it would ever happen.

Just to remind you all (because I know some of you don't know and because I know you all care. . . . ) I hate auto racing and never pay attention to it. Thus, I will not respond further on this issue

Auto racing thread!!!

As for the topic at hand, I don't think Pollock will buy Arrows, and Villeneuve will stay at BAR and try to simply wait until a seat with one of the top three teams comes open.

Also, as for attending races, I went to the Texas Motor Speedway for the IRL event, and it was outstanding, I know I'll go back, and I would have to say that it is without a doubt the most exciting sporting event that I have ever attended.
