Default How much time do you waste (watching televised sports?)

I was thinking yesterday -- how much time do I waste away watching televised sports per year? I spent 6.5 hours watching golf yesterday. Here's a breakdown of what I think I watch in a year:

50 NHL hockey games X 3 = 150 hours
30 MLB baseball games X 3 = 90 hours
20 NBA basketball games x 3 = 60 hours
20 CFL football games x 3 = 60 hours
7 NFL football games x 3 = 21 hours
6 rounds of golf x 5 = 35 hours
1 tennis match x 2 = 2 hours
30 hrs. minimum of Olympics when they're on x 1 = 30 hours
TOTAL 446 hours

That doesn't even include sport highlite shows which I watch for 30 minutes an average of 4 or 5 times per week, but if you're talking about live coverage, that's 448 hours per year out of 365 days x 24 hours = 8760 .... or 5.11% of the entire year spent watching televised sports

Not quite as much as you, Lee!

Unfortunately, my "sports watching" time was dramatically cut this year. In the move to Purdue, I lost a lot of sports channels. I tend to watch more games with my teams, as that just isn't as possible as I'd like. NFL and MLB games definately take up most of my time.

Well...I can honestly say I dont have the time to consistently watch as many games as you do. Though, I do try to catch every Charger game and as many Padre games as possible.

I watch a ton of football when it's in season, mostly NFL. I always have NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV ordered. Behind that, I watch a several NBA games a week and a few baseball ones. But the difference is that since I have a TV besides my computer in my room, I do so watching sports while doing many things - such as typing this!
