Default McGahee

Is McGahee not an awesome athlete? He could become one of the greats IMO.

"The All-American running back injured his left knee early in the fourth quarter of the Hurricanes' 31-24 double-overtime loss to Ohio State in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Friday night.

The injury could prevent him from entering the NFL draft in April and might even keep him sidelined for part of next season with the Hurricanes".

"The comeback of Buffalo running back Willis McGahee
Everyone who saw the gruesome knee injury McGahee suffered in the college football national championship game two years ago likely thought he might never be able to come back as a great player. Halfway through the 2004 season, he was the centerpiece of the Buffalo offense, the one player teams had to find an antidote for or lose. He's strong, quick and fast -- and the scary thing, according to teammates, is that he won't be completely recovered from his injury until 2005".

Just imagine if he never got hurt!

I SALUTE you McGahee

The suitors will be lining up for Travis Henry this spring - with the Raiders at the head of the line.

What you don't think Shaun Alexander is the top free agent to be at RB?

Henry still has a year left on his contract. But I'm assuming he'll be traded for a 2nd or 3rd... or released.

He probably is; but, like the situation that prevails at wide receiver, many teams will be bidding for Alexander's services, and once he's signed it becomes a battle for whoever else is out there.

And I doubt the Bills will get much for Henry, because on principle few if any teams will give up anything substantial for a backup, which Henry now is.

Henry's stock dropped incredibly over this year. There were rumors that the Bills may have been able to trade Henry for the Lions' 6th overall pick in last year's draft. That would've helped... a lot. Now we just got a benchwarmer by keeping him another year.

I've always liked Henry. He's fumble-prone, but a good back, still. As far as Willis is concerned....as much as I hate to admit it, he's pretty good. Probably goes back to my utter detest of the Canes...

I hate to have the Bills part with Henry (and so does most of Buffalo) because he played a lot of last year with a partially broken leg. He's handled being a backup fairly well and I appreciate that. I wish the best for him in the future.... as long as it's not for Miami.

Miami will have a top four pick in the 2005 draft after Sage Rosenfels gets shut out today in Baltimore, and they figure to use that pick on a running back.

Well... the Fins also have an ugly quarterback situation and a terrible O-Line also. If they were to pick up Henry for a second round pick or something, that would allow them to use the 1st in other areas.

BTW... I haven't really paid attention to next year's draft class... is there a top 5-type running back in there?
