Default Favre and Packers/Jets/Vikings, turned out well...

The Packers have an excellent QB in Aaron Rodgers, who is on verge of being Pro Bowl-level. They're happy and 2-1.

The Jets have a rookie sensation in Mark Sanchez and are 3-0. They're happy.

The Vikings also 3-0 and coming off another Favre comeback victory in which he threw a game-winning TD pass. (I might add, it's only September and old man Favre looked good for the Jets last this in September, too. Talk to me in December.)

So interesting how this triangle worked out to everyone's liking. The Vikes look good for now and the Pack and Jets have bright futures...

Sorry Marc, but I'm not convinced about Rodgers yet. He's 0-7 in games decided by four points or less.

Let him start sealing the deal in these close games before we buy any Pro Bowl tickets on his behalf - and he just might have a golden opportunity to do exactly that this coming Monday night.

But your record in close games has nothing to do with getting to the Pro Bowl though. If he throws for 4,000 yards and 30 TDs nobody cares what his record was.

You're right - up to a point.

How many Pro Bowls did Steve DeBerg appear in?

That is a valid statistic, but was Rodgers to blame for the Packers' losses? They were also one of the youngest teams in the league. And Rodgers has, I believe, 7 TD and 0 INT this year, so he's playing up to par. He is no doubt a franchise QB at this point, NO DOUBT.

Don't mind me, Marc.

I'm just an incurable cynic when it comes to Northern California college football - Rodgers having played at Cal.

Oops, wait a minute - didn't my man DeSean play there too?

Big night tonight ... Favre vs. Packers. I'm looking forward to some untimely classic Favre INTs.

That pass-interference call that nullified the interception was gnarly!

If you're upset about that, I can hardly blame you, Marc.

Favre is the first QB in NFL history to have wins over every franchise currently in existence. Pretty impressive.
I did not watch much of the game, but what I saw from Rogers impressed me quite a bit. He'll be fine. The Vikes, with Favre at the helm, are a better team than they were a year ago.

They were offsides on the play too, so the INT would be nullified anyway...unless this happened a second time in the game that I missed.

Rodgers played well considering his o-line is terrible, setting a record for most yards in his career so far. Favre played well, but I am glad we have Rodgers. Packers are hurting in defensive backfield and o-line, and failed to generate any pressure on Favre. Luckily with a bye coming up, they can get things right. They will get revenge at Lambeau in November.
