Default Best WR ....

There are really only two receivers that stand out as the best in the NFL right now. They are Randy Moss and Torry Holt. But which is better?? why??

Out of the two I prefer Holt. But there are more....

Would you really take Harrison over Moss though, seriously? There is no question that Marvin Harrison is real good, but there's no way he brings to the table what Randy Moss does. Moss is still the most dangerous wideout in the leauge as far as I'm concerned and he's had a string of huge games this year. The same can be said for Harrison, but Peyton Manning is argubely the best quarterback in the leauge who's passes are right between the numbers.

I know harrison is a good WR but he has manning but Moss and Holt have Culpepper and Bulger(sometimes Warner) who aren't as good as Manning. So Harrison has an easier job.

Torry Holt all the way. I like his attitude better.

Packers, that's so not the case.

Harrison, by being an elite receiver, makes Manning better. It doesn't work as strongly the other way around. This is a discussion/debate I've had previously with other folks, and at the end of the day, it's a draw.

If Manning didn't have Harrison, would he be considered as elite a QB as he is? Since the Colts have generally not had a reliable WR aside from Harrison, the quick answer is... no, probably not. Folks would say he has no talent around him, blah, blah, but hey, I'm not alone when I downgrade Mr Manning for not winning big games.

As for Moss' attitude, Keith... what whining have you heard from Moss this season that makes his attitude questionable? He has a history, sure. But, ain't nobody but Brian Baldinger questioning his attitude this season, and Baldinger doesn't know... well, let's just call it "Richard."

Of the two, I go with Moss. This is wide open for debate, however.

i know harrison is a great WR but i dont think he is a contender for the best. i would call him 3rd or 4th best.

u could argue the "manning makes harrison better" or "harrison makes manning better" either way ...............

or we could just say they make each other look good

The same could be said of Torry Holt. I honestly don't like him that much (enough to speak his name with Moss, TO, Harrison, that is). Heck, if he weren't teammates with Isaac Bruce, I wouldn't compare the two of them.

Holt's a good receiver, don't get me wrong, but Bulger likes finding him, has better luck finding him, than he does the other receivers the Rams have. And, let's face it, the only thing that makes that offense go is Marshall Faulk...

Yeah, but the question isn't that... it's could he do what he's doing with, say, the Atlanta Falcons, where he wouldn't have Faulk out of the backfield to receive, or Bruce on the other side of the secondary often grabbing his fair share of attention.

I say no.

You say yes.

I say whatever.

I vote HOMER.....yes, Moss.

Look at what he has done over the last two years with NO NUMBER TWO reciever. He still puts up 100 catches for 1200 yards and 12-15 TD's despite being double and triple covered every play.

What other WR has teams actually DEVISE A DEFENSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME to stop him?

I can't ever recall a team like the Packers or Bears treating him like a punt gunner and rolling a safety over on him to double him at the LoS and triple him with a FS.

He is like Michael Jordan. Teams had to devise the "Jordan Rules" and teams now have to come up with the "Moss Rules."

Torry Holt has Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk. Harrison has Pollard and Wayne. Who does Moss have? Quick.....you have 3 seconds to name another Vikings WR.......

Like Kelly Cambpell and Nate Burleson, who have about 20 catches between them, are gonna worry anybody.

While Harrison is no "possession" receiver by any means, he's not quite as fast as either Moss or Holt.

And while we're talking about the best receivers, it's painfully obvious that the Eagles have the worst receivers not only at present, but they're the worst any team has had in the past 30 years! Through twelve games, Eagle wideouts have three TD catches among them - putting them on pace to break the chuck-rule-era record for fewest touchdown passes caught by a team's wide receivers in a season, which is five, shared by the 1992 Seahawks and the 1998 Eagles. Furthermore, no individual Philadelphia wide receiver has more than one TD reception (Freddie Mitchell, Todd Pinkston and James Thrash have one each); if that holds up these next four weeks, the Eagles will become the first team since the 1974 Falcons not to have a wide receiver with at least two TD catches the whole year. And the Eagles went through the entire months of September and October without getting a touchdown catch from a wide receiver. The last time that happened? 1945!
