Man am I glad I went to the Rays game yesterday! Two bombs and 6 runs in the ninth to win 10-7!

Redsox and Yankees both lose today and Tampa keeps on rolling.

Ok, so there is no doubt the Rays are playing great baseball and they are for real... Does anyone have any doubts about their lack of playoff experience? I guess I wondering what (besides maybe the LAA) will stop this team?

The Rays seem to have forgotten what month this is. They should be fading by now, or at least that's what the Yankees were hoping.
On a somewhat related note, Joba Chamberlain's injury appears to be more serious than the Yankees originally said it was. Ian Kennedy came in to pitch tonight, with limited success. Without Joba, the Yankiees are pretty much done for the season.

Couldn't agree with you more Cat. Yanks are in TROUBLE.

Bad news for the White Sox tonight. Jose Contrearas has likely thrown his last pitch until sometime early next season. He ruptured his left achilles tendon tonight and will need to have surgery to repair it as soon as the swelling has subsided. There won't really be any rush on it, but he's done for the duration.
The Twins addition by not making a trade is working pretty well. They traded Livan Hernandez for Fransisco Liriano and have picked up 2 wins that Livan likely would not have gotten. They got some bad news this week as well. Michael Cuddyer was to have been activated from the DL as early as Monday, but was struck by a batted ball while running the bases and broke a bone in his foot. His season is likely also over. Fortunately enough, Denard Span is playing very well for them in Cuddyer's absence.

With last nights win the Rays equal their team record for wins in a season. With over 40 games remaining.

I have a hunch they will break that record this season. Bold prediction, but you heard it here first.

You're sure they won't go 0-40 for the rest of the season?

I have a feeling the Trop might "mysteriously" burn down before that happens.

Exactly...

I've got tickets for the Yankees series the first week in Sept - are you going to any of those games Mush?
