I was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and will be meeting with a couple of surgeons to determine what treatment options will work best. I knew this day was coming, but it still came out of left field and caught my wife and me off guard. I'll beat this thing, so don't worry too much. I'm taking the "Scott Hamilton" approach to the treatments -- I'm giving my dr 6 weeks to cure the disease.

From the research I've done, it appears I'm in stage 2 of 4. Its very curable at this stage and I anticipate few problems with my treatments. I'm not 100% sure just what I'll do, but I have some options to discuss with my surgeons. Among the bunch of us (my MD daughter included, of course), we'll settle on my treatments and go from there. I hope to know more in a couple of weeks, but my appointments with surgeons are not scheduled until the middle of March.
I'll keep you posted as to my situation and appreciate all the thoughts and prayers I get.

I am truly sorry to hear that Cat. Don't get me wrong, being a spirit is a blast, but I just checked the afterlife reservation books and your name isn't in it, so I think you're in great shape to beat this thing.

Nothing new to report, other than I have appointments the next few Mondays to discuss options. Likely going to have surgery either late this month or early next. I'll probably take a month off to recover.

From what I've read, I think I'm going with the "DaVinci" procedure. Its a robotic surgery that looks like the surgeon is playing a video game and the recovery time is less than standard procedure would take. The dr that does my surgery has done thousands of these procedures, so he's pretty good.
I wonder what his highest score is???????

Met with the first guy today. He seems very competent. Unless the other guy is really a "rockstar", I'll probably do the procedure with him.
