Default Pats don't franchise Moss...

The New England Patriots have decided to not use their franchise tag on WR Randy Moss making him a free agent next week. The club says they hope to resign him and QB Tom Brady has voiced his desire to bring him back as well. Moss took a pay cut in base salary of $7 million when he joined NE last year.

So will the Pats get him back or do you see Randy going elsewhere? How much $ is he gonna ask for?

I'd say that Randy knows what side his bread is buttered on especially this late in his career. I can see the Pats stretching a little more on Moss to keep Brady happy also. I say he stays put....or then again, not.

edit: Rumor but maybe the reason?

"The New England Patriots did not designate receiver Randy Moss as their franchise player by yesterday's 4 p.m. deadline, but the move may not have been made because it won't be necessary. The feeling here is that Moss and the Patriots are close to a long-term deal and he won't test the free agent market. If the Pats have come to a multi-year agreement with Moss, it cannot be announced until Feb. 29, the first day of the new NFL year.
Patriots possibly near deal with Moss- Providence Journal

I tend to agree with the notion that the Pats are close to re-signing Moss and not franchising him is basically a token of good faith move by the team.
Can I get an Amen from the bobbleheads?
