Default Clarett Refiles with Supreme Court

So, who else believes Clarett's lawyer when he says that Clarett is tyring to get his case heard in the Supreme Court because he believes that younger players deserve the right to play in the NFL? I don't know why but something tells me that Clarett is fearful of how far his draft status has slipped since last year and thinks he can sue the NFL for lost wages if he gets the Supreme Court to overrturn the previous ruling.

Clarett may strike a blow for future younger players, but then he'll have to fork over anything he might win - and then some, many times over - to various officials at Ohio State who are surely going to sue him for slander, so I suppose it will be a case of what goes around, comes around.

Bombers: Both are eligible.

Anthony: I guarantee Ohio State will not sue Clarett, even if nothing he ever said was true. They and any university would want to take the high road. If you can't libel and slander in college, when can you? And perhaps low-level individuals might sue him, but I think you're overstating their impact to a great degree if they do.

As the old saying goes sometimes it is best to let sleeping dogs lie. If OSU thinks there possibly may be the slightest chance any of what he says is true they will leave that alone. One thing a lawsuit does is opens the door for even more sleazy reporters and private eyes digging up dirt on the program. Seeing as public opinion of Clarett seems to be that he is full of crap and desparate for media attention I doubt OSU is too terribly concerned about what he says.

What does that have to do with Maurice Clarett's court case?

I have a question too....what's better. Coca Cola C2 or Pepsi One?

Sorry...it just seemed about as relevant as another question....

Man, I am so sick of Maurice Clarett right now, his very name makes me want to puke. Maybe if this kid spent more time on the practice field and less in a lawyers office and court room, maybe THAT would improve his draft status.

Who knows? Maybe......

I'd say Coca Cola C2... tough call though.

Who said anything about the university itself suing Clarett? I'm talking about Andy Geiger, Jim Tressel etc. doing it individually.

Does the name Stephen Pagones mean anything to you? Back in the late '80s, Pagones was an assistant district attorney in Dutchess County, in suburban New York City, who was accused by Al Sharpton and two other rabble-rousers of participating in the "rape" of Tawana Brawley, who later recanted her allegations, admitting the whole story was made up. Well Pagones did sue Sharpton, and a court ordered Sharpton to pay him $65,000 in 1998 (which goes to show that justice is better late than never).

And since when is letting somebody destroy your good name and not fighting to restore it "taking the high road?" To quote Captain Kirk, Geiger and Tressel didn't start this - but (if they have any pride or guts) they're liable to finish it.
