I am sure Cat will respond with something along the lines of.... It is in Newt's benefit to his campaign to do so. Has nothing at all to do with Attorney General Gonzales innocence or guilt.

So it is ok for Newt to do this, but not Democrats. Double standard...

"I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, not the Republican Party of New Mexico." – David Iglesias (US Attorney, fired by Gonzales for political reasons)

Iglesias claims he was fired because he wouldn't create bogus charges against Democrats in New Mexico. In addition, he says he was asked to make a case for "voter fraud" within the democratic party, when such a thing didn't exist. He was asked to "speed up a probe of Democrats just before the November elections." When he refused to do these things, he was fired. He chose country over party, a very rare thing in the republican party. He is a hero in my book.
