Default Sean Payton should be fired!!!

This is one of the rare instances where I really feel like
the screw up was SO BAD that the fans should get a
refund.

3 minutes to go, a 3 point lead, and ball at midfield after
a safety, and Tampa with no more timeouts left. What in
the MOTHER HELL was Sean Payton doing calling that
STUPID double reverse with a pitch.

OBVIOUSLY what every other SANE coach and fan KNOWS
is that in this situation, you run the ball a couple of times,
maybe a short pass to try to get the first down. Either
you run out the clock, or, at worst, you pin Tampa back
at their own 10 with a minute left, and no TO's.

But, no, Sean Payton has to go and INTENTIONALLY BLOW
THE GAME.

What Tom Benson needs to do, is get a list of every Saints
fan who was at the game yesterday, give each one of them
a refund for their ticket, and take it out of Sean Payton's
paycheck. Then, fire the bastard.:redhot:

I have always thought Sean Payton was overrated and that he caught lightning in a bottle an that will bare itself out over the next couple of years as the Saints wallow in mediocrity.

That play worked for me!!!!:thumbsup2:

Seriously, that was one of the dumbest play calls I have seen in a long time. Also, Chucky made that gutsy play call (for him, anyway) going for it on 4th down rather than kicking the game-tying FG....

I was thinking about how Sean Payton "turned the team around"
back in 2006, taking the team from 3-13 to 10-6.

Actually, we can attribute this to the acquisitions of
Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Marques Colston, and Mark Simoneau
(and a host of other lesser-known players that have helped
improve the team).

Jim Haslett could have gone 10-6 last year, with the breaks.

Well, yeah, the Saints won 3 games by 5 points or fewer last year so they could have been 7-9 which was par for the course under Haslett.

For a Packers fan, you seem to be taking this very seriously.

But the more I think about it, I can see why: The Buccaneers (and also the Seahawks) are guaranteed the tie-breaker advantage over Green Bay (conference record) if Green Bay does lose twice the rest of the way and Tampa Bay (and/or Seattle) wins out.

I'm also a big fan of the Saints.

But, you are right that I'm PO'ed that Green Bay hasn't been
getting any help from the total screw-up teams the Seahawks
and Bucs have played the last two weeks.

Green Bay is having one of those charmed seasons that comes
along, maybe, once in 20 years (for a particular team, anyway).
I'm afraid of seeing it go sour, now, with Brett hurt, and a couple
of teams creeping up on their first-round bye.

Yeah, Green Bay's job is to go out and win, regardless of what
any other teams do. They also finish off with four very winnable
games (Oakland, St Louis, Chicago, Detroit). However, a stumble
here and there, and they finish 12-4. Tampa runs the table, and
all of a sudden, things really suck. Three weeks ago, Dallas and
Green Bay having first-round byes was the foregone conclusion.

My happiness goal for Green Bay is a 13-3 season (so Favre gets
his 160th win), Brett breaking the yardage record (he has less than
500 yards to go), and a playoff game at home in the Divisional
Playoffs. Anything else beyond that (like a Super Bowl appearence,
or a Favre/Brady co-MVP Award, or a 14-2 season) would be gravy.

Sean Payton said in a press conference that this particular
play call was the "worst decision" he ever made.
