Default Pitino says he's staying put

Odd story saying Pitino had interest in the Sacramento Kings job: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/s...=ESPNHeadlines

Why would he want to do this? To prove he can succeed in the NBA? It would be a long, uphill battle to succeed there, and he's doing so well at Louisville, yet he's yet to win a title, so one would think he'd want to do that first. Pitino is almost 60 and looking pretty haggard, so I just can't believe he'd have the energy to rebuild a franchise.

Hope he stays in Louisville so Calipari can kick his ass. So funny to see Pitino try to run and escape because he's scared of his in-state opponent now.

For that matter I am not sure why the Maloofs would be interested in him given his last stint in Boston did not go so well.

He did coach the Knicks to the playoffs, though, so that's something, but I agree he'd be foolish to go back to the pros. Then again, it was foolish of him to leave UK (he admitted it was a mistake) and he has a history of going somewhere new every 8 years. But he's like 60 now, so I dunno.

He also had Patrick Ewing when he coached the Knicks. The Kings have very little to be excited about on their roster.
