Default Bigger Attraction?

I just thought about this today and thought it would be interesting to see.

Before the Lakers signing of Gary Payton and Karl Malone, you'd think that LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers would be the biggest attraction of the 2003-2004 season, now I'm starting to think otherwise. I think alot of hype will be around the Lakers this year, 4 future hall of famers...an All-Star cast...playing together for 82 games. Not everyday that happens. Who do you think will be the bigger attraction?

LeBron will for the first part of the season, everyone wants to see how he does. But after the Cavs start losing after a while people will lose intrest and turn their heads to the team at West.

agreed, I doubt he'll be able to make the Cavs a serious threat right away. However, as far as Eastern Conf, I will now be tuning in for Cavs games as well as Magic games (for T-Mac).

Lebron is awesome, but I just don't know about him. I don't think he can make that big of a difference right off...

I agree with you guys, attention will be with him at first, but then it will turn to other things such as the Lakers, among others, IMO.

3 future hall-of-famers mind you. Kobe still hasnít played long enough to be considering a hall-of-famer. Yes, he got the rings, but everything else? No.

Interesting point. You will believe that the Cavs will get A LOT more nationally televised games this year, so I will say them for now. But the Lakers is still the main drawer.

Kobe Bryant will be a Hall of Famer, not only does he have 3 Championship rings, he was the youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 points and he's only getting better. He's as close then anybody else to Michael Jordan in his prime.

lebron will. Just him being on the court makes the rest of his team beter. He has the intensity and leadership qualities to be one of the greatest players of our time ,but he needs to work on his shooting. Over time his shooting should get alot beter. Thats why Lebron shouldn't play pg, this year. Although he is a great leader, he just can't shoot like some of the other pgs in the league.

Like I said, Lebron will be the major attraction at first, but it won't last. I just don't think that the Cav's will be good enough next year to make him a really big attraction like the Laker's will be. It is going to be exciting though, I think.

I think it will be close. On one hand, it's hard to say a single player is a bigger story than the team, but LeBron will be very intriguing. The whole Kobe mess adds to the intrigue/interest in the Lakers, so I am going with them right now.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how the Lakers play... especially with the Kobe thing.
