Default Official World Series Thread -- Tigers vs Cardinals

Here it is for all the marbles, guys and ladies. Will the Tigers continue to show that they were not a fluke this season or will the Cardinals continue the momentum they have built up the past couple of weeks?

Given the way the Tigers and Cardinals looked during the second half of the season, a person could reasonably argue that both are flukes. LCS MVPs Placido Polanco and Jeff Suppan don't exactly have fans thinking, "Yeah, those guys are definitely prime time. No doubt before the LCS that they were going to be the MVPs." The Tigers do have stronger pitching and that's probably enough to get them over the hump, but let's not forget that people handed them the World Series crown before game 5 of the NLCS had even taken place. Cardinals deserve some credit, here.

Go with the Tigers to sweep....you can get 8-1 odds.

If you aren't quite that brave, bet them to win in 5 games at 4-1 odds.

I like the sweep as the most likely to happen.

Nah, not a sweep. But they will win 4-1. Detroit will lose game 4 with Bonderman in St. Louis. They should have had him and Verlander pitch in Detroit with Rogers and Robertson in St. Louis.

They may win 4-1, but will have to play better than they did tonight to do so. The Cardinals aren't going to roll over for them.

Kenny Rogers pitched a gem if he didn't cheat, but even if he cheated he still pitched a gem.

Detroit is this year's Angels, a team of destiny. And the voting is 8-0, looks like I'm not alone...

The Tigers just needed someone to motivate them properly and remove some of their "dead-weight" before they could contend. They have had a lot of talent there.
The Cardinals have had a very up and down season. They looked dead in the water toward the end of September, but have come back to life in the playoffs. This series is not over yet, and either team can win.

Yes, Kenny Rogers did have pine tar on his hands the first inning. And yes, maybe LaRussa should have made a bigger stink about it. But apparently it wasn't a huge deal to him. It is a foreign substance, but the only thing it helped him with grip, it didn't make the ball dance differently.

But hey, he washed it off afterwards, and still dominated.

Albert Pujols is the man, I hope the Cards win the series and he wins the MVP! Check his crib at http://attblueroom.com/sports its pretty chill, looks like an ordinary house for such an extraordinary dude.

We have a good game tonight.....4-4 going to the bottom of the 8th. We should see some really good relief pitching now.

Congratulations to the Cardinals on a tough win tonight. They could have folded up their tents when the Tigers went up early, but they hung in there. The pitching gave them an opportunity to hang in the game and they scored enough runs to pull it out.
