So I'm going camping next weekend. Second time ever. Should be an experience for sure. Stopping for liquor on the way, and going tubing in the mountains.

Camping is one of the things I miss about my youth. My wife is not much for being out-doors, so we don't do it anymore.
I remember gathering firewood, starting the fire using flint (we always tried that before resorting to matches and sometimes it was successful).
I spent summers in Yosemite National Park assisting my uncle (trying to stay out of his way) who was a park ranger there. It was a lot of fun getting to know the woods and mountains near the rangers' camp.

I really want to visit Yosemite and Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon and all that. Really bad. What are those hot natural springs called that are like hot tubs? I want to chill in one of those!

Nate, did you ever go back to school? I can't remember.

No camping last weekend; rained out. We'd had gloomy crap weather for the last week, stuck in a pattern where it looks like rain, but it's missing us. Ugh.

I had a date with this chick from Match.com last week. Were going ice skating. She looked cute and were texting, it was good. Then I met her. Those pictures had to be years old because she was 20-30 lbs. chubbier. I was like WTF?! What a letdown. She should be ashamed for misleading guys like that.

Gotta another first date tomorrow night with 26-year-old chick (dang, older than I usually go). The crazy thing here is she somehow went to the same high school as me in VA and we both end up in Charlotte and find each other on Match. Small world! No, I didn't know her in HS.

Maybe a little superficial, but I've dropped girls due to them being birdbrains, as well. So it's not just "is she hot." I'm looking for the total package and it is hard. I have high standards!

Nothing wrong with 26-year-olds! It's just several years older than I typically go for and women tend to go for older men, not younger (except in the cougar scenario). The date went well; she was extremely smart and great personality and we clicked, but ... I'm borderline on looks. Will probably see her again.

I am trying to get this girl I met once to come out this weekend to an opening of a cool new lounge, know via friend of a friend. No lie, she's Belgian.

Tried fondue at the Melting Pot last night ... what a different experience. Anyone been to the Melting Pot? It was great. Cheese/bread, then salad, then meats and vegetables, and finished with desserts dipped in warm chocolate. Here's some pics!

In other news, I got my friend's boyfriend to sign into his DirecTV account on my laptop so I can view all the games anywhere on my computer now. That means Packers.
