Default Playoff push: Who you fear & who you don't..

As the playoff picture clears, how does your team (or if yours isn't in the mix,a chosen one) match up with the possible conference competition?

Geez Tark. Lesse, the Foulcons couldn't beat a team who only passed 7 times. The offense is inept and horrid. They won't make the playoffs, but if they squeak out a miracle, then they should fear everyone.

If the Saints have to go to Chi-Town, they are doomed. But if they get lucky and someone pulls the upset, I think they can hang w/any AFC team. Man that offense is good. (And I hate the Saints.)

I'd have to think that a lot of teams in the NFC don't want to see the Eagles after they went into Dallas and b**** slapped the Cowboys up and down the field on Monday. They just went on the road and owned their two fiercest rivals and have won three on the road within the division the last three weeks.

I'd say of the teams currently holding a playoff spot Seattle is the one that is not scaring anybody right now. They basically won the NFC West by default by being the least suckiest in the division that defines mediocrity this year.

The top two playoff seeds in the NFC both have the same, huge hole: Lack of winning playoff experience at the quarterback position; and the same applies to the top playoff seed in the AFC, assuming they don't pull a monumental choke job this coming Sunday (San Diego).

Super Bowl XLI could very well be a redux of this past October's World Series, with two low seeds squaring off for what would be a very tainted "world championship."

As it stands right now the Patriots would host Denver. I like this matchup. Denver went into NE earlier this year (week 3) and beat NE, but I do not see that happening again. Denver ousted NE last year as well. I think Belichik will have s'thing instore for Culter.
The team I am scared of would be the Bengals (if they get in) That was a HUGE/TUFF loss in Denver, and if they get in, watch out!!

I'd like to see the seedings change so that the Colts and not the Patriots host Denver - just for the laugh of watching Mike Shanahan go to Indianapolis and get blown out again.

Blown out in the playoffs by Peyton Manning ... talk about embarrassment!

It is very difficult to pick a team like that this year....

Teams I am not afraid of is easier... Giants, Seattle, Atlanta...in the NFC... Denver, NYJets, Jacksonville in the AFC... these teams will be easy pickings for the better teams...

San Diego, Baltimore, New England, Cincy, Indianapolis is how I rank the teams in the AFC

Chicago, New Orleans, Dallas/Philly... in the NFC...

Dark horses: Cincy and Philly...

Packers are still in it with a win and Giants loss...

Though even I say they will not scare anyone...

Not only that, but if they do make it, their wild card game would almost certainly be at Philadelphia - and the Packers' history in Philly, dating back more than 40 years, has been well documented, particularly on this board!

Well right now there are only 4 teams in the NFL (currently in the playoffs) that rank top 10 in BOTH offense and defense - Those would most likely be the teams I would be scared of.
TEAM - Rank: OFF / DEF
San Diego.....1 / 7
Chicago.......2 / 3
New England...8 / 2
Baltimore....10 / 1

Note: Jacksonville ranks #9 in offense & #4 in defense.

Boston,

Makes sense..

I am surprised at Jax being ranked so high in offense... no matter, they will be an early departure in playoffs if they make it...

When the Ravens picked up Steve McNair before this season, I thought "Uh-oh, these guys are going to be trouble." Well...

They're the only defense that is equal to the Pats. The Chargers are close behind, but stats don't lie.

BBP, I'd hate you for saying that if it weren't so true. I'm think the Jaguars had the playoffs in the palm of their hand, and let it slip away. I think they need some mental help, and a QB that can hang on to the ball when he needs to. If, by some small chance, they do make it to the playoffs, they may be a team to fear. By backing in they may actually play better than they did at 12-4 or 14-2.

Tennessee is in it, but they need loads of help. I have hope, but the chances are very slight
