Default 49ers !!!!!

Doesn't everyone know that the 49ers are the the best team in NFL History...We are 5-0 in the Super Bowl and hold the record for the most points scored in a Super Bowl...So my pick this year for the Super Bowl Champions are the 49ers!!!!!!

I like the 49ers, for one reason and one reason only.

Terrell Owens.

He is everything football is about, and more.

He is original and plays with more passion than any other WR.

When he stood in the middle of the Cowboy's star and flexed, It was the best thing any player has ever done.
That says everything.

He plays with heart and passion.

He is also an explosive WR.

This guy will be the BEST WR EVER!!!

The guy is also there to put on a show.

When he scores a TD you are ready to see him do something exciting.

HE TAKES THE SPOT LIGHT.

As for Garcia, I have no faith in him. He still hasn't proven himself.

RBs are also an issue.

But I think Owens can carry the offence.

Wow the 49ers were great Super Bowl teams in the 80's and early 90's. That must mean that there going to win the super bowl. The steelers were a great team in the 70's. They won 4 Super Bowls. But no one thinks they're going all the way.

News Flash=49ers were great.

He is a symbol of everything that is wrong about sports - and society in general - today: He is selfish, conceited, inconsiderate, and narcissistic.

It almost started a full-scale riot that day - and ended up costing his team home-field advantage in a wild-card playoff game when they lost at Dallas the following year.

Good job Anthony, that covers just about all of it. He's not a team player, he's a showoff and a jerk. The sharpie incident may have been funny but it was sad in some ways to see what pro sports is coming to.

Woah. I think you are forgetting about the best team ever, the Buccaneer's. I mean what other team has came into the NFL and their first season they just dominated.

Look at that 1976 season..

Sun 9/12/1976 @ Houston L 0 - 20
Sun 9/19/1976 San Diego L 0 - 23
Sun 9/26/1976 Buffalo L 9 - 14
Sun 10/3/1976 @ Baltimore L 17 - 42
Sun 10/10/1976 @ Cincinnati L 0 - 21
Sun 10/17/1976 SEATTLE L 10 - 13
Sun 10/24/1976 Miami L 20 - 23
Sun 10/31/1976 Kansas City L 19 - 28
Sun 11/7/1976 @ Denver L 13 - 48
Sun 11/14/1976 @ N.Y. Jets L 0 - 34
Sun 11/21/1976 Cleveland L 7 - 24
Sun 11/28/1976 @ Oakland L 16 - 49
Sun 12/5/1976 @ Pittsburgh L 0 - 42
Sun 12/12/1976 New England L 14 - 31

WOW!! They were unstoppable!!!

But in all seriousness I don't know if they will be able to repeat by having their defense carry the offense.

If I'd have to pick a team to win the Superbowl I would have to go with either Pittsburgh (heh. ) or the Eagles. (Just a guess. )

I'm not crazy about the 49ers. Can Tai Streets be a capable No. 2 receiver? Can Garcia get healthy for the season? Who is the starting RB, Hearst or Barlow? My gut says Barlow because he's younger. And their defense is far from being stellar, so I see them winning 8-10 games.

Okay I'm a Niner fan, but I agree with most the past is the past. It is more of a what have you done lately mentality.

As far as some of the questions:

Streets #2: He was pretty much the #2 last season once Stokes went down. Finished with 70+ catches for over 700 yards, and had 5 TD's, perhaps the biggest in the Giants game. He appears to be completely healthy. No lingering Achilles or Leg injuries. So yes he is more than capable and last year showed.

Hearst/Barlow: Hearst will be deemed starter. Look for Barlow to eventuall get majority of carries. Knock on Barlow is his blocking, which he has improved on in camp. Look to see both Hearst & Barlow in backfield together this year to keep defenses on their toes.

Defense: Biggest question mark is DB's. If D-line gets better pass rush DB's should not be as awful. Look for a more agressive defense this year. Winborn appears 100% healthy. He along with Peterson could become one of the top LB tandems in the NFL. Look for Peterson to line up at DE on occasion as well. Prediction: By the end of the season it will be known the Niners drafted the better of the two DT's out of Penn St.....Adams over Kennedy.

LOL.
Anthony and Rick, Why do you have no love for Terrell?

I think being cocky, as a athlete, is great.

Only the greats have been cocky and take the spot light.

Muhammad Ali was cocky. He taunted the other boxer as much as he could. And people don't look back it him and say he wasn't mature or was all that is wrong with boxing.

In hockey, every one loves the goal scorer but, what gets the team pumped up is fights, talking trash, and alittle showing off. Any one who plays/played hockey has to agree with it.It is so true.

If I was running a football team, I want him on my team.

He gets your team pumped up by big/explosive plays and taunting the other team, a little.

Those athletes are cocky in different way. Did Kasparitis ever pull out a sharpie and sign Lindros's face after he gave him a concussion? No. Is he cocky? yes. Now i know that thats an stupid example but you hit in hockey so you can fire up your team and the fans. The same with scoring goals. Terrel acts like that cause he wants to show everyone that hes the best. Too bad hes not.

Rick, It's football. Of course any hockey player didn't.

And He's not the best?
Well one of the best, AT LEAST.

The only person I would put above him is Marvin Harrison.
And, That is still pushing it.

In fantasy football points ,total, on yahoo! he was second in recievers.

I don't under stand how he isn't the best.

Were you not refering to WRs?

Taunting opponents and rubbing their noses in it has an uncanny way of coming back to haunt you. Back in 1972, for example, the Redskins were playing the Giants, and had a 7-point lead and the ball, deep in Giant territory with less than a minute left - and George Allen, the Redskins head coach, chose to stop the clock and try to score another touchdown (they did in fact score). The Giants never forgot this humiliation, and four years later an 0-10 Giant team upset Washington and the loss ended up costing the Redskins the NFC East title and home field in the playoffs (as a wild card, they went to Los Angeles, and got blown out by the Rams). Another example comes from the 1980s: On the next-to-last week of the 1984 season, the 49ers, 15-1 (and Super Bowl champs) that year, were playing the 3-13 Vikings at home; with the outcome no longer in doubt entering the fourth quarter, the 49ers kept throwing deep passes and ended up winning the game 51-7 (it was on a Saturday afternoon and hence nationally televised). Well San Francisco had to play the Vikings again in both 1985 and 1986, and got upset both times, as heavy favorites.

Is it worth losing a first-round bye or home field in the playoffs - or maybe even a playoff spot itself - just to say "nah-nah-nah nah-nah-nah?" I think not.

I dont think hes the best. I think hes showoff and jerk. He enjoys embarrassing other players and rubbing their noses in it. I can that, he likes to win but he takes it so overboard.
I think Randy Moss is a better player....still a jerk
