Exclamation Brady Injures Knee

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3574166

How long do you think the Patriots will be able to keep this one under wraps like they usually do with injuries?

And if he is out for the year, do they trust the job to Cassel?

Yahoo is reporting that he is done for the year. ESPN and other places not quite that convincing with their terms, but seems that everyone thinks this could be a long time.

They'll have to bring someone in, I'd imagine. Not so sure it would be Culpepper. Whatever they do, I think they'd do it fairly quickly. Belichick seems to know what he wants out of players and if he doesn't think Cassel is the guy, I don't think he'll take too much time messing around with that as an idea.

Peter King was also reporting on the NBC Pre-game that Brady is likely out for the year.

My guess is they will go and get a veteran to back Cassel up. I would imagine that if Belichick did not think Cassel could do the job he would have cut him by now seeing as this is his 4th year with the team.

This could be the case, but with the Patriots, I don't think we'll know whether it is until we see what they do to replace Brady this week. A backup that you think can carry a team for the course of a season after an injury to the starter is going to cost you more than a backup that you just have to spot a guy for brief injuries.

Anyone else thinking that Brett Farve should have waited a little longer to un-retire?

I'm glad to see this. It's vindication; finally the cheaters are fading and we won't have see them at the top of the standings.

Don't be too sure Ellis. They may have lost Brady for an uncertain amount of time but the Patriots still have the weapons to be very good.

Wow... nothing like waiting months only to see your whole season last 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Good luck to everyone else... I guess I'll see you guys in about a year.

The last two Patriot games I've watched have just been absolute nightmares...

I guess I shouldn't just throw in the towell yet because they are 1-0... but its easier to mentally prepare for the worst. I was really looking forward to 2 Brady / Favre matchups this season too.
