Default NBA Thoughts of the Day -- November

Woops. Probably should've put my last October post here. Anyway, from last night, Lakers rule (so far), Clippers drool, and Chicago is made of plastic.

Your sig is hilarious, Buckeye.

There's a lot of hype around Rajon Rondo in Boston, especially about his defensive skills. Chris Paul sliced him up last night, though. Rookie's got some work to do.

Spurs and Mavs tonight. I'll be switching back and forth between that and the WVU-Louisville game.

We go all summer with just baseball then everything gets good at the same time.

Rondo is more style than substance at this stage of his career. He is another example of a guy getting drafted based on his potential than what he actually accomplished in college.

Ain't that the truth, not to mention that I will have to record CSI.

By the way Buck and all Laker fans........I knew that Bynum would improve greatly under Kareem's tutelage........If Kwame sees the court during anything but garbage time you should all riot.

Bynum was a little dodgy, actually, against the Warriors. But that had more to do with the sprain he picked up against Phoenix the night before. Given his performance from opening night, I'm looking forward to big things from the kid -- an unexpected boost, really, considering most thought he'd also start to come around by season's end.

I don't agree. Rondo needs to work on his shooting, but he's far from a project or someone picked on hype. I've watched nearly every game of his college career. He is a tenacious defender with extraordinary quickness and athleticism. He is best suited for the pro game and will be an all-star before it is all said and done. And he was never my favorite player in Lexington. In fact, many called him a cancer who was out for personal gain rather than the team (he always had an eye on the pros). That said, I'm pulling for him. My point is he can be an effective NBA player right away and the hype is justified.

As for my Pistons, I am rather down. Last year was painful because Flip Saunders let them lose their defensive tenacity and discipline. Now they're just another mid-pack playoff contender, i.e. Flip's T-Wolves a few years ago. I miss the Larry Brown days.

That's the way I feel too. The Lakers problems stem from the fact that they dismantled their winning formula (work to win) and don't want to admit they are a second-tier team and franchise now. Give Bynum all the minutes. You ain't winning a title anytime soon so why not? Sure he'll be shaky and inconsistent, but there is only one way to win...bleed for it.

Let the bloodshed begin! Beat that young kid up.

The thoughts of the day threads are being discontinued/retired for the time being, sort of an experiment. Please see https://www.sports-central.org/commu...ewpost&t=15352 and I encourage you to start new threads for worthwhile topics.
