Ezra Williams is a familiar name, it's good to have someone you recognize.

I just remembered that #47 (who left us back in March, to our collective chagrin, and hence, many of you missed) had a brother playing in the NBDL. Also, he played in a semi-pro football league. I'll try and dig up his team. Could they still be playing? I don't keep up with semi-pro stuff very much?

Ah, well... so much for that. The team he played for didn't exist in the 2003 season.

Go Riverdragons!!

Hey, did you guys realize that the Riverdragons can be seen on NBA TV in tape delay?

Must take time to get the video from the game location to NBA TV, since there are 3 days in between games and replay on NBA TV.

Just noting...

Well, bah, the Riverdragons lost their opener, on the road to the Huntsville Flight, 87-84.

The downfall for the Dragons seemed to be shooting, as they shot 38% from the field to Huntsville's 49%. Kevin Lyde was the Dragons leading scorer, with 19.

There were a couple bright sports: They won the board battle 51-38, and apparently stager a furious 4th quarter rally to trim the final deficit to 3, when at one point they were down 18. Terence Morris had 12 boards.

I was just looking over the roster of this team, and there are some guys I have no idea about. Here is what I do remember of the players on our team...

Courtney James went to a final 4 with his college team Minnesota, and that was a team that also had Bobby Jackson (Sacramento King) on it. I had no idea where James was, as he was a brute force that year in the paint.

I can't believe Morris is not on an NBA roster, but I did notice he is the only player on this team that played on an NBA team last season.

I know the 2 SEC guys well in Ezra Williams and Derrick Zimmerman, as I have seen them play many times in college.

Kevin Lyde is the only other one I recognize, for I remember him being a pretty good player at Temple, kinda beefy and out of shape looking, but not a bad player.

Dave, do they show every single game of the Riverdragons on NBA TV?

Right now, without seeing them play yet, my favorite player is Derrick Zimmerman being that I have seen him play so much.

Morris spent some time on the Spurs Summer League roster. Didn't get too much time to my memory. :uhoh:

The Riverdragons are scuffling a bit to start the season. Since the close loss to Huntsville to start the season, they've lost to the Asheville Altitude 79-69 and again to Huntsville, this time by 20, 103-83.

Against Asheville, Columbus outshot the Altitude, but who can win when you turn over the ball three times as many times as your opponent? (21 TOs to Asheville's 9). Ezra Williams led the game with 19 points for the RiverDragons.

Against Huntsville on Sunday, ugliness as the RiverDragons couldn't even shoot 40%, while Huntsville shot 47%.

On Tuesday, the Riverdragons signed forward DeMario Jones to replace the injured Patrick Doctor.

Just an FYI. The Riverdragons next play Wednesday night. Here's to win #1!

0-3 - Glad we picked a good team

btw - I added the RiverDragons to my signature. I'm totally behind this team now.
