Unhappy Warren Spahn Dies

http://espn.go.com/classic/obit/s/20...4/1670072.html

He was one of the, if not the, best left handed pitcher of all time. A great loss to all of baseball and the Braves family.

RIP

Agreed. He was one of my all-time favorites. I never had the pleasure of seeing him pitch in person or meeting him, but I've heard that he was one of baseball's truly great guys.
He had an incredible career, winning 363 games after he was 25. Could you imagine how many games he'd have won if Stengel wouldn't have sent him down and if he'd not have served in WW2 (where he was injured at the Battle of the Bulge)?
Warren, you were a great one. May you rest in peace.

I met him last summer in Cooperstown as I do several HOFers, and he was realy a crusty old man. Didn't look very good, as he could barely walk at all.
