Who will win the Western Conference Quarter Finals between the St. Louis Blues (4) and San Jose Sharks (5)?

Although I said Detroit/L.A. would be my "upset" series, where the lower seed beats the higher seed, I am predicting the lower-seeded Sharks to win this series. This wouldn't really be an "upset" because both teams have played VERY poorly down the stretch and are pretty even as the Blues are somewhat scratched up. Also, the Sharks should have leading center Vincent Damphousse back in the line-up for the first time in a month, which will be a big boost for the hockey club.

I predict Roman Turek to again falter in the playoffs for the Blues, and rookie sensation Evgenie Nabokov to pave the way for the Sharks going into round two.

(Check Sports Central on April 10 for my NHL Playoff Preview article, featuring my "offical" picks, and analysis of each Quarter Final series. Also featured on Sports Central during the playoffs will be a printable playoff tree, as well as live, up-to-the minute scores.)

I haven't really been following these two teams closely but I'll go with the Sharks too.

...guess so!... No disagreements here!... the Blues are on a TERRIBLE cold streak to finish the season (4-8-2-4 since March 1)... the biggest thing for me with the Blues, though, is that Turek just doesn't cut it as a number one guy for me... I think Nabokov, though also struggling downt he stretch, will prevail here... rookie's luck!... shades of Patrick Roy, 1986!?... maybe...

I gotta go with the Blues, but not without a fight! It will come down to the last game in my books.

...how many people want to bet Owen Nolan takes a shot from center ice in the first game!? (if you don't know what I'm talking about... think to last year... Game Seven)

...Owen Nolan scored from center ice in Game Seven during a line change by both teams...

...im not sure if that was the game winner or not, but it put a stab in the heart of the Blues!

Have you guys forgotten about Brent Johnson? If Turek falters he'll be the one to come in and he's been playing great... low 2 GAA... although i do think Nabakov is better...

Sharks will win this one

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm just wondering..... will Quinvelle actually do that -- pull his main, number one guy, Roman Turek, in the PLAYOFFS?... Johnson did get a good portion of playing time in the regular season, but would Quinvelle (I know I've spelled that wrong) actually do that in the playoffs?

I think Quenneville will pull Turek... if he doesn't then it's just a repeat of last year

i think the nowlan goal was in the all star game , and he pointed at the net to signal a goal.like in baseball when the batter points out of the park.

...Nolan did that in 1997, when the All-Star Game was in San Jose... he went on a clear breakaway against Dominik Hasek, pointed to the top corner, and put it right upstairs.

HOWEVER, last year in Game #7 in the first round versus the Blues, he also scored from center ice on Turek.
