Default Jermaine O'Neal next to demand trade?

"I'm getting to the point, I'm in my 11th year, I don't want to play 82 games and then exit to watch somebody else pop champagne. ... I'm tired of that."
-- Jermaine O'Neal

I don't blame a guy in one sense, but he's also getting paid mad money, so quit complaining. At any rate, is there any chance the Pacers move him? They were contending up until recently; it's a shame they couldn't get over the hump.

Oh, and 11th year? WOW, that's hard to believe.

Depends on what they could get for him. I think they are more apt to try and get another guy then give up altogether. They are still in the playoff hunt and it is not as though their is a huge gap between first and seventh right now. They are only 3.5 behind Cleveland who is the top team right now. To me O'Neal is jumping the gun a bit. I mean every team goes through a rough stretch during the season.

The Garnett trade rumors are starting up again as well.

And now Webber has likely played his last game in Philly. Never made sense bringing him in there in the first place since they wanted a youth movement.

The Webber deal was one of desparation. The Sixers were trying to make a playoff push at the time and he was the best they could do.

I really don't see O'Neal being dealt. A lot people in the media (ESPN guys) say Indiana isn't interested in trading him, which makes sense. If the Pacers organization needs anything right now it's stability (and maybe a new PG). Following the Reggie's retirement, brawl, Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson, Indiana needs a great player and stand-up guy like O'Neal to represent the team.

To be honest Stephen Jackson is the guy they need to look at dumping. He is nothing but a head case and is not nearly as good as he thinks he is. Not to mention that he always seems to have his name pop up in the news for all of the wrong reasons.

So Webber is now in Detroit. What will his role be, guys? I guess he can provide scoring and depth, but I can't see him starting. I think he will be a valuable addition as long as he doesn't bicker about playing time. Detroit has a chemistry I would hate to see tarnished by Webber.

I doubt he starts unless someone gets hurt.
