Default Anthems and noises

While in air Canada last night the Canadians cheered both anthems! I am proud that we did not boo because it shows how much class we have.

That's good to hear. The Detroit fans cheered both anthems or at least were silent during it the game after they booed your anthem. I'm glad to hear fans are showing a little more respect.

Today at the Fleet Center, the jumbotron aired a pre-recorded message of star forward Bill Geurin asking for the fans to respect both the Canadian and American national anthems, and the fans listened. Usually the PA announcer says that but I guess the fans will listen to their own players. Good job. . . . ACC fans at a Leaf game is different than ACC fans at a Raptor game, though -- we'll see how the Rap fans respond tonight as their series shifts to Toronto. Hopefully it's in a well-mattered way.

Anyone see the pregame ceremonies of the DET/VAN game today, played in Vancouver?

There were a few cheers for the US anthem, but definitely no boos.

Then the Canadian anthem comes on. W - O - W. I've never heard a hockey crowd... heck, ANY pro sports crowd, sing their national anthem that loud. I dunno if CBC muted who was actually singing or not, but the shut him off and just let the TV audience listen to the fans. It was amazing.
