Default 8 Potential Upsets...

According to some guy on a blog ...

8. Central Michigan at Georgia - My take: No way in hell

7. Eastern Washington at Colorado - My take: No way in hell

6. Buffalo at Pittsburgh - My take: Yep, could see it happening. In fact, I think Pitt is in trouble their first 3 weeks when it comes to avoiding the upset
(HOST BGSU, BUFFALO AND THEN IOWA)

5. Temple at Penn State - My take: It would take a miracle but I don't see it. Temple is going to be MUCH IMPROVED but so is Penn State.

4. Texas Tech at Nevada - My take: Plausible and something to consider.

3. Southern Miss at Auburn - My take: No way in hell

2. USC at Arizona - My take: Not only is it possible, I have it officially predicted

1. Vanderbilt at Florida - My take: The Commodores play 'em tough but UF isn't going to lose this one...I think.

IF the game was in Vandy they may have a snow balls chance but, not in the swamp.

Arizona over USC seems to be becoming a chic upset pick. One of the local talking heads on the radio is picking 'Zona as USC's only loss this year.

Don't worry about Iowa beating anyone that is decent this season. They are having trouble keeping their team out of jail.

Has any coach in recent memory fallen as fast and hard as Ferentz the past couple of years? It was not too long ago that they were talking about him being one of the fastest rising coaches in the game, he was being mentioned for possible NFL jobs with a shot at possibly being Joe Pa's successor. Now he could be fighting for his job if the Hawkeyes do not soon get out of the six/seven win funk they have been in the past three years and it sounds as though expectations are that he will be lucky to his team to .500 this year.

I have Arizona going 11-1 and USC going 11-1 as well. Obviously, USC's only loss will be to Zona.

Don't be shocked if Va Tech comes out of Greenville with a loss this weekend. The Pirates gave them all they could handle last year and ECU is seen as a program on the rise and Va Tech could be vulnerable the first couple of weeks as they figure out who the QB is going to be and who is going to carry the ball. The Hokies lost the second highest number of players to the NFL behind USC so they have a lot of holes to fill this fall.

Temple over Penn State? Guy must be smoking crack. Happy Valley would be a mighty scary place if we lost to Temple. PSU has beaten Temple a combined 80-7 the past two seasons. Improvement? Sure. But that pretty much means they lose by four touchdowns.
