Default Chiefs' Peterson Steps Down

The Chiefs last game of the season will be the end of an era in Kansas City as it was announced president and GM Carl Peterson will step down at the end of the season today:

It looks like the Chiefs could be going in a completely different direction starting next season which is not necessarily a bad thing considering the Chiefs have struggled to stay competitive the past couple of seasons. If they go outside the organization it also means Herm is probably as good as gone.
Can I get an Amen from the bobbleheads?

Yeah, the Chiefs were always a solid, competitive team, a la the Steelers, up until the last couple years. They badly need a QB and WR help, and a new direction is in order.

I don't know about WR help, but definitely could use some more consistent QB play.

I think this move will prove to pave the way for Herm to be let go, too.

Given the youth of the Chiefs, if Carl had remained, Herm prolly would have been given another year to see what he can shape them into.

But as it is now, I have to believe KC will start completely fresh.

The same bug-a-boo that has haunted Herm during his coaching career has shown it's ugly face a few times this year -- that being, head-scratching game/clock management.

I think players LIKE Herm and they DO tend to bust @ss for him, but he's much more suited to be a position coach or coordinator than a head coach, imo.

Monday through Saturday, Herm is real good.
Sunday, Herm can't grab his @ss with both hands.

Buh bye

Why not make it interesting? If the Chiefs finish ahead of the Raiders in the division, Edwards stays; if not, he goes.
