Default Paying for My Team (e.g. Yes Network Debate)

I am becoming very concerned about the average citizens in Major League Cities paying too much for our American Passtime.

Removing all of major league baseball home team games without having to pay an exhorbitant subscriber fee has taken baseball out of hotdogs and apple pie.

I demand baseball resolve this in an appropriate way...Advertising, Announcing and Commentary will be lost if they continue this Stadium/Luxury Box ethic.

Any other comments...and yes I live in a major league city.

no offense...but im having a very difficult time figuring out what you are talking about here

regarding the YES Network debate...out here in San Diego we have the Channel 4 Padres which airs 140+ games a year and is part of our basic cable...as far as I know we pay no extra for it...I think it is dumb that they want to charge in order to air the games

I know that their 2 options they are debating over are: basic cable, everyone pays an extra couple bucks a month; premium cable, people that want it pay like $10 a month...I say basic cable is the way to go, at $10/month people should just buy MLB Extra Innings on satelite and get games from all around the league

For the Mets, they play 50 games on MSG and 50 games on Fox Sports Net - both premium channels around here. I don't mind though (I'm not the one paying).

I think YES should be a premium channel. The Yankees' previously aired games on MSG which cost extra. Why change it now? Plus my mom already complains about high cable bills...

All I know is that I can't afford to see a game in person. I see the Atlanta Braves almost every day in my area. And the Chicago Cubs and White Sox on WGN.

I get to see my Braves almost every day on TBS. If only I could get Turner South, I'd be happy. Personally, I think those channels like MSG and YES should probably be premium channels. Are local channels allowed to air Yankees or Mets games on their channels? I ask the question, because I have no clue living in MT. I know the Rockies are broadcast on a local channel when I went to a couple games down there.

I know the Mets have about 50 games on a local station and I think the remaining 12 games are split between Fox and ESPN probably.

If I am going to pay extra for Major League Baseball in my home city, I demand that there be no commercial content...Except for the content which pre-exists in the stadium...If you want a stadium atmosphere at home, you shouldn't get play-by-play, commentary...Just crowd noise and the PA announcer.

That would be cool, at times. Other times, its nice to have the play-by-play announcer.

Great, if you require me to pay a subscription to be in your stadium, I require you allow me to watch batting practice, I require me to allow you me to watch me watch your gates close. I require you for me to be in your stadium from when the gates open until your gates close...withoout commentary!
