Default Is Kobe Dirty?

That's been a hot topic after Kobe was reprimanded twice for slapping a defender in the face with his "shooting motion." Is it intentional? I think it WANTS to draw contact and get a foul, but it has turned into something else. I don't think he's dirty, but it is funny to note Kornheiser on PTI says they should suspend Kobe the whole season if he does it again.

I don't know about him being "dirty", but he sure does create a lot of space for himself -- at the expense of anyone guarding him.
The Refs have to make the same calls against him that they would make against, say Andre Iguodala

Now they have gone back and assessed Kobe with a flagrant foul for an elbowing incident against Kyle Korver the other night.

I don't know that he is dirty per se just that he is not as good at masking it as other guys may be. Part of me cannot help but wonder if Kobe thinks he is above it all given his status in the league.

I'm starting to think it's more of the league thinking Kobe thinks he is above it all moreso than anything else. The league seems to be targeting Bryant.

The NBA should be embarassed that they went back and gave Kobe a flagrant foul for the incident with Korver. Just atrocious by the league and to me, it kind of verifies thoughts I've had that the league is developing some sort of silly vendetta against Bryant.

The Korver play gets called an offensive foul maybe 10-25% of the time and it happens a lot. I don't think it's ever been a flagrant foul and by no means should it be considered as such. Why they went back and did this, it makes no sense to me other than singleing out Kobe for whatever reason.

Kobe has done a very good job of resurrecting his image and now all of this happens. He just can't win, can he?

At first look at the Korver play I thought it was an accident but upon looking at in slow mo and judging by Kobe's facial expression it seems that he was attempting to send a message and that it was on purpose.

Now if we go back to the two other "incidents", no one makes that motion when shooting a jump shot and most jump shooter create contact by leaning in or kicking the leg out a la Reggie Miller, so I believe that those two were on purpose and because the league believed that Kobe is not going to get the benefit of the doubt on the Korver play.

I just think he plays hard. I don't like him, but he is a great player.

Kobe is no dirtier than John Stockton and Isiah Thomas were when they were playing. I think the league has some kind of intolerance with him because of his past. It sucks... but it is what it is...
