But, it is not like is getting the prime time Thursday night or Saturday evening slots though. A bunch of those games are Friday nights on the deuce.

It could very well be that more and more of the recognizable programs are refusing to play Friday night games on the principal that Fridays should be reserved for HS football. That has been something of a controversy in this state. Coaches in North Carolina have purposely steered some of their players away from ECU because they have taken Friday night games in the past.

I applaud this move with great fervor.

Yeah, I want to say the ACC prohibits its schools from taking Friday games except for special occasions like Thanksgiving weekend.

Honestly is there really a need for college games on Friday night? I can't say I go out of my way to watch any of them. I might watch if I happen to be home and nothing else is on.

The lesser conferences (anyone not named the Big Ten ) use it as a recruiting tool and money maker. It greatly sacrifices traditions that are done on gamedays. I feel sorry for old skoolers in these conferences who have to put up with this s-hit. Just like when Ohio State had to play Michigan at 3:30 two years ago.

They'll rape ya until you go blind.

Louisville sold its soul to the TV networks years ago. Honestly, outside of West Virginia (and Syracuse and Pitt traditionally-speaking), the Big East is full of wannabe big time programs that pull **** like this.

I really don't understand the allure of any program putting itself on TV on a Friday night other than the day after Thanksgiving. High school players aren't going to see it since they'll be playing their own games, many fans will be at the high school games or in transit to their own school's game, etc.

Other than ESPN cuts them a nice check to play these games. The only real reason to do it is they boost their TV revenue by taking that game instead of a regional ESPN game on a Saturday. Or, it gets the game on ESPN/ABC when it otherwise would not have been.
