Default Dodgers leaving Dodgertown...

They're moving their spring facilities from Vero Beach (aka Dodgertown) to Glendale, Arizona starting in 2009.

What a blow. Vero Beach and the Dodgers is quite a tradition. And so goes another one...

Most of their teams are in the West and their players live in the LA area for the most part. I think this is a reasonable business decision. It is hard to move across the country for spring training, when there are areas closer to your fan-base to hold it.

suedon1970 is on a distinguished road

Yeah, we had this discussion earlier in the Spring Training thread - I think it is an absolute travesty - I understand the whole "economics and closer to fan base" thing, but it doesn't make it right in my eyes. Tradition, people!!! HELLO!

It really makes sense to move to Arizona, but I would like to see them all play in Florida just to be honest. Florida just mean spring baseball to me.
