Default Ga Tech CRUSHES Notre Dame

Okay, I guess I'm a Notre Dame "hater" as was described in another thread, but that game was a joke. If Ga Tech would have scored TD's early instead of settling for FGs, it would have been 50+ - 3. Defense is horrible. Offense was horrible. Charlie Weis said he had a definitive starting QB earlier in the week, but as Lee Corso said, if you play 3 QBs in the course of the game, you don't have a quarterback. Tech embarrassed Notre Dame in their own house. There is no other way to put it.

So where is the criticism of Charlie Weis that started early in Ty Willingham's 3rd season? The "genius" play calling isn't looking too hot at the moment. Penn State will crush them next year.

I picked them to win in the pick'em contest but, put $50 on Tech after watching Gameday. Truely embarrassing for Weis and Co.

BTW I am a Notre Dame "hater". Except for the movie Rudy. Kinda like that one.

That kinda shocked me; shows the few teams who can truly reload (USC, UF, etc.) are a rare breed, cuz ND is awful after losing so much. Will Weis' job be safe if they finish sub-.500? That looked ugly.

I knew the Irish weren't going to be very good but that was just an awful performance. The offense couldn't do anything. By the time the QB was ready to throw there were four defenders in the backfield ready to sack him.

They might be better off with Jones as the QB so they've at least got the ability to let him run with the ball.

Penn State's going to wreck this team next week. I can't wait.

That Georgia Tech D was intense. Not only the schemes but the way the front four mauled the offensive line.

Weis tried to be tricky so GT would prepare for all 3 QB's, and it made no difference. All 3 did the exact same thing against the stingy Tech D: nothing. If youre going to go in with a plan, stick with it. You already screwed up by picking the wrong QB, why change 2 times in the middle of the game?? Give one of them a chance to get a rhythm going and see something instead of yanking them for making a bad choice. You're dealing with unproven and untested QB's, they are going to make bad choices from time to time, but yanking them as soon as they do could shatter their confidence.

It's going to be a long year! Could be worse though, it could have been a AA team.

Hate away folks.

Looks like Jimmy Clausen is going to start on Saturday for ND.

Dear God, Charlie is showing no mercy to his own team. Troy Smith had trouble with the crowd noise two years ago. How is little Jimmy, in his first career start, supposed to combat perhaps the loudest crowd he will ever play in front of and a tenacious defense. This a recipe for disaster for the Irish.

Easy Alex. Where's that "Oh God we're doomed" mentality at?

Nobody is more excited than I am that Penn State's path to Pasadena looked to get easier than ever in week 1 but don't get crazy. Live in fear...

"little jimmy" won four state titles in california. it ain't happy valley, but it's all not po-dunk football out there.

I am apparently the only notre dame fan in here, and i WILL say this game was all of weis. he called a terrible game. i have no more loyalty to him than I did to willingham. if weis doesn't shape up, he should be gone too. but don't think charlie's bad game makes Ty look better. Ty was a horrible fit at notre dame, he had NO offense in a whole SEASON, not just a game. so weis gets a little credit there.

Hey, you're not the only ND fan here. I stood up to be counted and I'll still be here after what looks like a bad season ahead.
