Default Diesel Derailed.....

This didn't look too good when it happened. Things will look a lot different without the Beast of the East......

Excerpt:

Shaq injured in first-quarter fall

CHICAGO (AP) - Miami center Shaquille O'Neal left the Heat's game against Chicago on Tuesday night because of a strained left knee.

O'Neal, injured when he landed awkwardly on Bulls forward Othella Harrington early in the first quarter, was not expected to return. The Miami star will be re-evaluated before the Heat's game Wednesday night against Indiana.

O'Neal fell on Harrington after the Heat center went up for an alley-oop pass from Dwyane Wade. O'Neal stayed on the floor for several minutes holding his knee before being helped off the floor and taken to the locker room.....

I can agree that without Shaq, Miami's chances are not as good at a title...

But...I really don't think the Pistons have a chance at repeating..

I saw where they are scheduling an MRI for him in the next day or so. So, we probably will not know until then. I suspect they err on the side of caution and he misses a couple of weeks especially with the rather comfortable lead they have right now and Mourning coming into the fold should help ease that loss a bit.

So, what makes you think Shaq can beat the same Pistons squad this year with a decidely less talent than the Lakers had last year?

I see where your going with that doublee but Kobe showed up to play only one night the game they won. Malone didnt show up at all. 50 year old Gary Payton got owned. Luke Walton played well and that was it besides shaq. Dwayne Wade will def play better then Kobe did in the finals.

How do we know that? Miami was one-and-done in the playoffs last year. Wade has not shown that he can get a team deep into the playoffs as of yet. Besides that outside of Shaq only Eddie Jones has any real postseason experience on this team. Miami will go as far as its supporting cast will take it.

True, Wade hasnt shown he can get a team deep into the playoffs WITHOUT Shaq, but neither has Kobe.

Less talent maybe, but far greater chemistry. I think the Lakers self-destructed from within last year.
If the Heat and the Pistons go to the East Finals, I'll put my money on the Heat in a HEArTbeat.

Yea me too but even if the get past the Pistons. I think that the Spurs will beat them in the finals Damon Jones on Tony Parker is going to be a problem for the Heat that I am not sure they can get past

That would be one heck of a series, I think.. although I would lean to the Heat on that one as well. Sure T-Parker has an advantage on D-Jones, but you can't underestimate the biggest advantage in that series- one Shakilly O'Nilly. (flanked by The Flash)
