Default Most Complete Player

Who is the NHL's most complete player?

My vote, without a doubt, goes to Peter Forsberg.

This guy has been healthy his whole career, until the 2000 Playoffs when he had his spleen removed. He just began skating again yesterday, but there's no doubt in my mind that he'll come back to his old form.

Forsberg won't be the leading scorer any season... he won't be the most intimidating player on the ice in terms of physical brutality.... hey -- he might not even be the most well spoken player in the locker room, but he has a combination of everything -- the scoring, the physical intimidation, and the leadership... not to mention 2 Stanley Cup Rings... - that, IMO, makes him the most well-rounded hockey player in the NHL.

Where are you hockey fans, in hibernation until the season starts?

I think Forsberg is a good choice, although I don't know who he is, I'll take your word for it.

The most complete player in the NHL has to be Mike Peca. Although Peter Forsberg has more talent, Peca plays his guts out every night. This guy can score, hit, motivate and is an outstanding leader. He may also lack size, which Peter Forsberg has, but he certainly doesn't play like it! It's a very close call, but I'd have to go with Peca

Marc........ Peter Forsberg!?... uhh......
  • 5-time All-Star Game selection
  • In 1998, named to the First All-Star Team (postseason)
  • 1995 Rookie of the Year
  • 1996, 2001 Stanley Cup Champion
  • Colorado Avalanche leading scorer in 1997, 1998, and 1999
  • Over 100 goals, 300 assists, and 400 points

Anyway, Phillerup.... I think I might have to agree... I just didn't think of Mike Peca 'cuz he wasn't in the NHL last season, but in 1999 he was the Sabres' best player en route to a possible Stanley Cup championship. ....it's definitely Peca and Forsberg as #1 and #2.... or Forsberg and Peca!

....gotta like the Canadian kid, though... that's for sure!

Default Uhhh Lee

Forsberg's been injury riddled his whole career. In fact he's played one full season in his whole career.
CAREER STATS
YEAR TM GP G A PTS +/- PIM PPG PPA SHG SHA GW GT SOG PCT
94-95 Col 47 15 35 50 17 16 3 12 0 1 3 0 86 17.4
95-96 Col 82 30 86 116 26 47 7 32 3 4 3 0 217 13.8
96-97 Col 65 28 58 86 31 73 5 21 4 3 4 0 188 14.9
97-98 Col 72 25 66 91 6 94 7 30 3 0 7 1 202 12.4
98-99 Col 78 30 67 97 27 108 9 28 2 4 7 0 217 13.8
99-00 Col 49 14 37 51 9 52 3 12 0 0 2 0 105 13.3
00-01 Col 73 27 62 89 23 54 12 24 2 4 5 0 178 15.2

Anyways, my vote would go to Scott Stevens even though he's kind of lost his offensive touch. Second would be Pecker er Peca.

Well, what do i know!?... but how many players actually play a full season???..... plus, wasn't 94-95 the lockout year??... and, 78, 72, and 73 games are pretty close to a full season....

....I stand by my word that Forsberg is still the most complete player in the NHL, though!
