Talking Who will be the Winner of the World Series?

I think the Oakland Athletics will win the World Series, mainly because of their hitters like Jason Giambi, Miguel Tejada, Eric Chavez, Jermaine Dye and Terrence Long.

My vote went to the A's. Like bama said, they have some great hitters! They struggled at first, but really have come into their own in the last third of the season.

I also went with the Oakland A's. Not only do they have the excellent hitting squad praised eariler, but they have one of the best pitching staff's in baseball led my Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, and Tim Hudson; and they've really been playing super lately.

I agree. I'm going to go with the A's. Had they been playing this way at the start of the season, we could have had a tight AL West race.

Also, welcome, Danny! :wavey: Welcome to the boards!

I picked the A's vs the Cardinals to be in the WS. Both teams looked bad early in the season, but have come on. I'll take the A's in 6, because of the things previously mentioned and their defense and relief pitching. Isy is not the best closer in baseball, but he can do the job.
I like their defense, Chavez, Giambi (a surprisingly good fielder at 1st), Tejada, and the Outfielders.
There aren't any real holes in the team at this time.
I would also like to welcome Danny to the boards.

I'm going against all you guys and am the lone vote for the Yankees, despite the A's being the most dominant team in baseball since June 22.

Wait and see -- the Yankees will prevail again. I'm not going to vote against them until they lose, be it this year or any other year.

No one in baseball has a starting rotation as deep as the Yankees. I mean, ORLANDO HERNENDEZ is a reliever now!?... The same "El Duque" that was the dominant starting pitcher in the 2000 World Series??... and the Yanks can afford to but him in the bullpen!?.... there's been injuries for El Duque this season, but still......

Also, welcome, Danny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... although I your signature makes no sense -- care to tell us the meaning of it?

Lee, those are some of the stars on the University of Kentucky football team. I'm liking Danny already - he likes the Packers and Kentucky! Now I'm not alone with my favorite teams.

My Yanks will beat the Astros in six games. Of course, I am biased.
