The Twins didn't blame Cuzzi for missing the call. It is possible that he was too close to the play to see it properly, at least that's his story. I'm sure Selig has had something to say to him about it since then.
I doubt if you'll see him in either championship series or the WS.

Pujols doesn't sound too eager to re-sign with the Cardinals, and I don't blame him: Albert Pujols in no hurry to talk extension with St. Louis Cardinals - ESPN

Pujols needs to be shown that the Cardinals are committed to put a winning team on the field. Unfortunately, they don't have the revenue, even in their new ballpark.

I would not read too much into it just yet. He still has another year on his deal, and like catman says he needs to be shown the Cards are committed to keeping enough talent around for them to be playoff contenders on a yearly basis.

If they re-sign Holliday or acquire a comparable bat to hit behind him then he will likely to sign a new deal with the club.

They are going to have some extra cash to play with this winter with Troy Glaus' $12 million salary coming off the books.

Ryan Ludwick is due a raise and they need to re-sign Joel Piniero but other than that they should have some wiggle room to pay a guy like Holliday to hit in the order behind Pujols.

You think re-signing Holliday helps keep Pujols? Not sure I buy that. Holliday is not a legit 4 hitter and is going to cost way too much. If they re-signed him I think it would send the message that they just want to be competitive, but, don't want to try for the World Series...not sure that is what Pujols wants to hear.

Ryan Howard might be cementing his spot as greatest Phillies player of all time with this postseason run. It's only been 7 games, but it has been epic thus far.

That was an ugly game last night, if you're a Dodger fan. Nothing went right for them and nothing went wrong for the Phillies.
On the flip-side of the coin, it was a great game if you're a Phillies' fan. Cliff Lee had great stuff and the hitters all seemed to be going well.

At this point, it looks like the World Series I didn't want to see is going to happen: NY & Philly. Yawn.

What is yawn about NY/Philly World Series?

That's probably best case scenario given the teams that started in the playoffs...the defending champs against the best team all season...yeah...sure sounds like a yawner. The fuck you want out of baseball?

Tonight was another tough loss for the Dodgers. It looks like the Phillies will win the series at home. Does Hamels pitch for the Phillies next game?
The Angels finally pick up a win in their series with the Yankees. Vlad hit a homer. If he gets going, the Yankees will have a fight on their hands.

Yeah, I saw that after I asked. I guess I should check first?
At any rate, the Phillies are definitely in the driver's seat. They can close it out tommorow.

I just like to have a team to root for in the World Series. I want NEITHER Philly nor New York to win, so that World Series would be dreadful and I would have a hard time tuning in a wasting my time watching those teams go at it.

Don't worry Nate, the Angels can still pull it out. If they win tonight, they will have a bit of momentum. The Yankees have been very good this post-season, but also very lucky.

I do think it's funny with all the question marks surrounding the Phillies, and especially their bullpen, how they've managed to play so well this postseason. Some teams just turn it on in October, I guess.
