Question Some of my predictions if the playoffs started today

So what would your guys' predictions be for the 1st round of the Western Conference playoffs if they started today?

Mine would be (8) Jazz vs. (1) Kings: Kings in 3.

(7) Sonics vs. (2) Spurs: Spurs in 3.

(6) Blazers vs. (3) Lakers: Lakers in 3.

(5) Timberwolves vs. (4) Mavericks: Timberwolves in 5.

I agree with all of them except the last one. Minnesota will have to get down to it if they want to beat Dallas.

Default Re: The possibility of a Timberwolves vs. Mavericks 1st round playoff series

Well the Mavericks and the Timberwolves tied their season series at 2 wins a piece this regular season so I think Minnesota can play with them.

Garnett just needs to be a little more selfish in crunch time and if Nowitski's health is a question mark, who knows.

A lot of important games played today, as well as on Monday-Wednesday as the season winds down. My Hornets were beaten by the at-home Bucks. It took a career-high 47 from Ray Allen, including 10 threes to win. We didn't shoot well and were pretty lethargic. But as Paul Silas said, the most important thing is for us to be rested and healthy. We are secured a spot and we play better on the road, anyway, so this loss wasn't too significant. But it's a loss, that's never good.

Anyone see Pippen get ejected? It reminded me when he threw that chair as a Bull. Loss of temper hurts his team.

The Lakers yeah.

But the Bucks? Don't know about that one now. And I'm one of the guys who picked the Bucks to come of the East before, hehe.

Yes I believe in the Bucks if they make the playoffs they will go far. A big part of what was wrong with this team was injuries (Same with Toronto) Now that they got a healthy Ray Allen this team should be dangerous if they make it which they probably will.

Yes, but Sam Cassell, their PG and leader, is still hobbling around with hurt toes and Tim Thomas is beat up. I *don't* like the Bucks chances.

Ray Allen had a great 47-point performance and as a shooter he is one of my fave players but even 47-points won't get the Bucks out of the cellar.

Default Battle for the 7th and 8th spots in the Western Conference

Well these last 2 days of the regular season are important. Especially for the 7th and 8th spots in the Western Conference. The Sonics finish the season with Memphis tomorrow. You figure they'll win that game.

Since Utah owns the tiebreaker with Seattle, all they need to win is one of their last 2 games to clinch the 7th spot. However, look at who Utah plays. They're on the road at Dallas tonight, then they host San Antonio. Dallas needs that game tonight and San Antonio may need that game tomorrow night.

They're screwed, hehe. Because Utah needs to avoid Sacramento in the worst way because in 4 games this year Sacramento has beaten them by a cumulative of 90 points or by an average of 22.5 points.

I'd love to see the Bucks get there because they are exciting to watch with all their scorers and if we can get high scoring teams far in the playoffs maybe other teams will imitate them and we'll see less teams like ugly defensive minded Miami and New York who both won't make the playoffs this year.

IMO, the Bucks won't make a run, they just can't bounce back form what tehy've gone through. First round exit.

The J, you might want to re think that, with a big win tonight against Toronto and Detroit tommorow who has nothing to play for the Bucks will most likely get into the post season. They can beat any team in the East and are my pick to walk out of it. Reason why they were so bad was because of injuries, now when healthy they are playing good ball.

The Bucks are a jump-shooting team and many have repeatedly said no team of that caliber will make a run. The reason is when they get cold, their game goes down the drains. They are too dependent on their shot and have no inside game, so I don't like their chances.
