Default ESPN Power 16 Rankings

I agree with most of what they said in this article:

I wonder if the big ten can sustain 4 teams in the top 16?

I think Wisconsin is being overrated by just about everybody. Their schedule is a lot tougher than a year ago, and defenses are going to focus all their attention on Hill with those unproven QBs and passing game. I don't see how they finish Top 3 in the Big Ten.

These poll's are becoming head scratchers. Yeah the top three most agree with thus far. But how can so many be off with other teams' Take Georgia for instance. I can't believe how low some polls have them. Arkansas another, They just don't know what to do with a team that went through a rough off season, and most think McFadden won't make a difference. Auburn is another you see high in one poll, low in another. And Oklahoma is all over the damn place. Beats me.

With LSU and a unproven QB, along with Florida, I think they both can be successful, but to start them so high at the beginning? hummm? With UCLA returning 19 players from last years team, why aren't they a top 10 choice in everyone's poll? After-all, they DID beat the Pac-Tens number one team last year.

Georgia will prove pollsters wrong I bet.

Who do u consider the dark horse that could end up number one and win the championship team? West Virginia maybe.

Given that WVU is in everyone's top 5, I don't think they qualify as a dark horse, Keith.

A horse of a different color, maybe, but dark horse? Not so much.

Referring to the overrated/underrated article mentioned in another thread, dark horses generally don't win titles. And the darkest horses, those that open a season unranked, never win titles. I'll accept a dark horse defintion to include anyone outside the top ten, I guess. Given that, and using the ESPN Power 16 as the referential Top Ten, Cal is as tough as anyone. (Or Penn State, mebbe.)
