... care to elaborate? I mean having three games in a row rescheduled and your coach fired mid-year sucks, but the Lions are hardly a success, though they are not a joke anymore. As a Packers fan, I would love to see the Vikings suffer for years after the Favre experiment backfires.

Well actually this question will be settled Sunday, when third place in the NFC North is on the line at Ford Field: A Lions win would leave both teams 6-10, but Detroit would carry the tie-breaker with a 2-4 division record to Minnesota's 1-5.

I am optimistic on this game. The Vikes just played on Tuesday, which makes a very short week.

The Lions should win this game, but they are the Lions so I dunno what to think.

If both the Lions and the Vikings can resolve their respective quarterback issues - can Matthew Stafford's shoulder be trusted in the former case (with alternate plans being formulated if it can't), and can Minnesota acquire a viable QB in the spring, say by signing whoever the Eagles don't keep as between Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb, in the latter - the NFC North could be an extremely strong division for many years to come - maybe even so strong that some team therein finishes last with a winning record, just as the Seahawks finished first in the NFC West this year with a losing record.

Yes I can see it now, Kolb in Purple...actually I can't really see it, I dont think the Eagles would trade their QB's to the NFC if an AFC team comes a knocking and with some of the teams in the AFC SURE to come a knocking, they will end up out of conference, and out of mind.
