Default Series 9: Carolina (3) vs. Montreal (8)

Use this thread to discuss the somewhat surprising semi-final match-up of the Habs and 'Canes.

"TEAM OF DESTINY" anyone?

Lee can't wait for the oldest rivalry in hockey to go on in the Eastern Finals -- Canadiens vs Leafs in Stanley Cup Semi Finals.

Lee's Line says Canadiens in 7.

Hi, rezag!! -- haven't seen you around in a while! Watcha think of that Boston series???.... now 22 times in the playoffs the Habs have beaten the Bruins. It's fun 'cuz there's a lotta B fans around where I live but I myself prefer les Canadiens

I'll be watching tonight (first game I will have watched all 2nd round -- a total of 3 days without hockey! ) -- should be a great game!

Hi Lee
I know I will get into trouble with Bruins fans for saying this but here it goes: eventhough this Montreal team are going to be remembered as a one man team, one look at Dafoe's save % and you know why they lost the series:
0.865
I am sorry but you need a better goalie. With a percentage like that it doesn't matter that Boston badly outshot Montreal
GO HABS GO

True, but Theo's saving percentage was only .880 through the first 4 games. Difference was, he knocked it up a couple steps and he was the difference the last two games..... his sv% is now up to like 920 or something.

And that is why the series was tied after 4 games. One goalie stepped up the other......

Ya. You see the game today??? Great game but Theo can't win them ALL for the rest of the team. I mean, they gotta score and get some shots!!! Weekes played well too, though -- I'll give 'em that much.
