Default Which Sporting Event would You Choose

If you could go to any sporting event in the World and you only had one choice which would it be. I would choose game seven of the World Series if there was a game seven that year. How about you.

I changed some of your options (e.g.: College World Series... what's with that!?... Little League World Series gets more publicity than that! ) and added in the most obvious ommission -- "NHL Stanley Cup Finals."

This is a very good question. After considering it for a bit, here's my Top 5:

1. World Series
2. Stanley Cup Finals
3. Super Bowl
4. Grey Cup (Canadian Football League)
5. Masters

The US Open is my fav golf tournament but tickets to the Masters are so rare and the waiting list fills up in 5 months (the last time applications were accepted was in 1978. Since then, they only accepted applications for a short span in the year 2000, and now they're good for another ten years).

Grey Cup obviously 'cuz nothing beats crazy Cancucks in -20 degree Celsius weather watching football in November

Super Bowl 'cuz it's so crazy there, too with all the people. Plus, they've been pretty good games the past few years.

Stanley Cup Finals obviously because the intensity and level of play is at such a high that time of year

World Series.... baseball has a special place in my heart. Ya, it overtook hockey for #1 spot. I really get into the baseball craz in September and October. Perhaps the intensity in NHL's Stanley Cup Finals is second to only that in the World Series. .. . . or maybe it's just because baseball is soooooo long and boring during the spring and summer and early fall that it's soooo nice to finally see some GOOD baseball in October

Baseball, bah!

There is at least four World Series games and only ONE Super Bowl - that's what makes the Super Bowl most special and unique. It's the largest sporting event on the planet.

Actually, the Olympics is the largest sporting event on the planet.

Unlike catman, though, it doesn't need to be a 7th game for me to goto a World Series games... There's somethin' about playoff baseball in October that I'm in love with :uhoh:

Easy question...Super Bowl. The greatest sporting event. Period. Maybe Ill find a couple thousand dollars lying around this year and head their since it is just down the street

I was at the final game, game 4, of the '98 series. And it was an experience I will never forget. After the game (when the pads lost) everyone gave them a standing O and the pads all came out while Hells Bells blared on the loud speaker. Amazing. But, since I have been to a WS, the Superbowl becomes the easy number one choice.

Number 2, however, would have to be the Olympics (as Lee pointed out). Largest sporting event in the world and you can root for your country, not just some team in some arbitrary organization of teams. Your home should be the most important thing, and your country is your home.

As for the rest of the choices listed there. Probably NHL Finals, Nascar, NCAA tourney, NBA finals (in that order). Though none of the four would be as exciting to me as the previous three that i mentioned.

Baseball, baseball, and more baseball!

1)World Series (Game 7 would be best, but give me any playoff baseball and I'll be happy )
2) Super Bowl
3) NBA Finals
4) Daytona 500
5) Stanley Cup

I said the Super Bowl because of all the hype that goes on while you are there. Because it is one of the world's most watched games. There are 2 other's I would like to see
1) Olympic Track and Field, specifically the 400 * 1 relay
2) Final Game in the World Cup .. men's or women's... talk about excitement

For me it would be the college National Championship Football game..............if they ever get over there brain lock and actually have one.

Of the choices though I guess it would have to be the Super Bowl.

Let me get this straight SC-Lee........you took out the college World Series and say "what's that?" and then say the Grey cup is one of your top 5 choices? The bigger question in North America would be...........What's that? in regards to the Grey Cup. The college World Series is a great event and for those that don't know anything about it, there missing out. It is also a sell out every year, before they even know who will be in Omaha.

The Grey Cup......lol........a friend of mine played for the Alloquettes(sp?), and he can't even start for our semi pro team here in NY.

You talking to me??

Of course, I'd watch the Grey Cup Game over the NBA Finals any day. NBA is only exciting if the Raptors are playing in Toronto. Otherwise, what's the point? NBA is dumb -- there's no consistency in the rules. OK, NHL playoffs are kinda bad for that but at least if Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux crosschecks someone from behind 3 feet head-first into the boards and breaks his jaw, he gets penalized for it. Shaq just sits at the top of the key and fouls everyone at both ends of the floot... and travelling is only called if the ref likes your or not.

Ya, that's much better.

If you're calling the NBA playoffs dull after a weekend of buzzer-beaters, last-second thrillers, and huge comebacks in record-breaking proportions, you're out of your mind!
