Default Dungy and the Colts

I kind of neglected to post something about the Colts hiring former Bucs coach Tony Dungy. What does everyone thing about this move? Personally, I like it. The Colts' offense is pretty much in place, (besides the fact that our '02 Pro Bowl TE Ken Dilger is on the unprotected expansion draft list ) but we need every little bit of help we can get on defense. I think Dungy can help us get pointed in the right direction. When the Colts finished near the bottom on defense and the Bucs were near the top. Definately alredy looking forward to September to see what Mr. Dungy can do for us on Defense.

It's going to take some time, me thinks, but we all know the turnaround can happen rather quickly - look at the Rams. I like the move a lot - both parties get what they want.

I think it's a great move for the Colts- and that things will turn around much more quickly and anyone suspects.

Dungy should make an immediate impact upon Indy's dreadful defense, and remember that with the realignment the Colts will be playing in what has to be considered, until proven otherwise, the weakest division in the league by far. They have as good a chance as anyone of winning the AFC South in 2002; and as far as schedules go, the Colts will be taking the sharpest drop in company of any team in the NFL (for more details refer to the "Strength of Schedule: 2001 vs. 2002" thread). It should be interesting to see how the new playoff format will work (the owners will be voting on that during their meetings in Orlando on March 17-22); it's quite possible that division winners will no longer be assured of home field in the first round - and Indianapolis is one of the teams that could potentially be hurt by such a change in the near term.

Tony Dungy is definitely a good choice for Indianapolis. He should really hlep this team buid a good defense-I hope he can get Tennessee's DT John Henderson in the NFL Draft. I see Indianapolis going 10-6 in 2002 and making the playoffs.
